This teams play of late is rather concerning.

Any more questions on whether PG deserves to be 1st team all NBA?

Our offense has become the PG/Lance show. The only difference right now is that PG's J isn't falling, and Lance isn't getting to the cup as easily in the half court.

We need to get back to playing inside and out with West being featured early in the game. Also, we need to get back to MOVING the ball.

All the dribbling without direction is really taking away any type of rhythm within our offense. We have virtually become an isolation based offense, and we rarely get easy looks at the basket.

Yes, this was an awful loss. I echo the thread title and the OP. This game sucked.

The worst thing about those losses is that they bring negativity to the forum.

Before the season started, if you told me this team would have the best record in the East going into the All-Star break, I probably would have been very happy. However, the way we've played this past month of basketball has been really disheartening. I know championships aren't won or lost in January/February, but I've lost a lot of faith in this team over the past month. I'm less worried about the Heat than I am the Pacers' own stupid mistakes. We have met the enemy and he is us.

Let's just hope and pray they come out of the All-Star break with the same energy and focus they started the season with.

    A few other thoughts:

    1. Ian is just bad. Awful. Please get Bynum in there. Ian is not a rotation player on a championship level team.

    2. Scola has been bad for a month and a half. If we are not going to get the Scola we saw in the first month of the season back we need to go to Copeland or someone. If he isn't making shots he doesn't give us much.

    3. Watson has been awful on offense for a month. He is still a solid defender though.

    4. Roy wasn't that bad. I am not sure why he didn't get more touches. It is tough for him to get into a rhythm.

    5. We are not going to win a title with these turnovers. Lance and Paul can be out of control.

I feel bad for anyone that had tickets to that game. Hands down the most boring game of the season. Pretty much nothing to cheer about all game.

Well, true. But Miami is prone to such losses as well. They won't fight hard for the 1st seed or so they're saying at least.

Carlisle's one helluva coach. Vogel will be as well but he aint on Carlisles seasoned level yet. Good to see him get a ring with Dallas.

Defense was very good, offense couldn't score worth a damn, just when you thought somebody was on, they missed and were ice cold again. If the Pacers score their previous season low, the game is in OT, that's how bad and off this game really was. The All-Star break is desperately needed.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Yes, I was glad for him that he got a ring in Dallas. It was well deserved.

He was axed in Detroit after an ECF's season so that they could get Larry Brown. Obviously that worked out fine the next season when they won the championship (primarily because of mid-season Sheed addition), but that had to sting for him.

He took the hit in Indy for our front office destroying the team. It wasn't his fault that the Murphy-Dunleavy trade was the worst in franchise history and made us an exponentially worse team on the basketball court. Yet he was the fall guy and then we brought in an absolutely abysmal coach to replace him. I don't think I can think of a better example of a coach taking the hit for the failures of a front office. He wasn't done right by the Pacers.

Finally he goes to Dallas, a premier organization with one of the greatest players in NBA history. He gets respect and patience there, and rewards the franchise with an NBA championship in his third season.

    So good for him.
