    Very exciting.
Bynum's got a lot of talent and attitude.
We wouldn't sign him if he cant contribute.
He'll beat out Ian in about two practices.
    I've seen him outplay Roy.
Those days may be gone but wow a little mature advice from our locker room (BAMF), a little luck with his knees, and this guy could
give us 15 min per night of exceptional game.
I can't think of a team I've ever seen with more beef.

Did I really have to color my text in Green?

I'm poking fun at Bird cuz he seems like an old-school fuddy-duddy that wouldnt deal with that new-fangled technology and them texting gadgetry.

Yes, he texted Lance during his time off....I forgot about that.

You the guy that broke...something a while back? I can't remember what it was but somebody had it on the board before any media.
I've been first with a couple of stories but never anything like this. At least not from this source.

If the Pacers want him bad enough, he won't leave the city without being a Pacer. That's typically how it works.

Just to play Devil's Advocate.....I really wonder why Bynum would be interested in playing for the Pacers. The Pacers don't have any minutes for him. I'd think that Teams like the Nets or Hawks would go after him ( both Teams that actually have a need and minutes for him ).

Perhaps Bynum is a ring chaser and that's why he quit Cleveland?

And some of you think Danny moves like a 38 year old...

Lets see....If we play Bynum, Scola, and Danny on the frontline...and maybe Rasual at the 2...wonder if Saras is available? We could really play runnin-in-the-mud basketball then...

he's been on the market for what, like 3 weeks? may not have a lot of competition for him.

He won two championships with LA. Some players, like Derek Fisher, only want to be on teams with a chance to win titles

Have to hand it to Larry Legend though, if there's a move that can reasonably be made to help improve this team and our title chances, he's made it.

I'd believe it, now question is, does he take over Mahinmi's spot or be our 3rd center?
Don't think he's signing here to be a #3 Center. If he's not better than Mahinmi would we really be going after him?

I'm going to assume this is just as good as confirmation of a deal.

Why would the Pacers OWN website fuel speculation?

That seems very out of character for our front office.

The Pacers, who have a roster spot open, have $2.1 million left of their mid-level exception, and they could use some or all of it on Bynum. But the Pacers are roughly $1.8 million below the luxury-tax threshold, and team president Larry Bird has said repeatedly they do not plan to pay the luxury tax.
The Heat have their entire $5 million mid-level exception to use but are scheduled to pay more than $15 million in luxury taxes and would have to pay a penalty of $2.50 per dollar they gave to Bynum if they were not able to trade a player to offload some salary and open roster space.

As someone earlier said....we go after him to keep him away from Miami. But why he'd go to Miami? They already have a 3rd Big ...going to Miami would make him the 4th Big where he can't even get any minutes. But then again....I question why he would come to Indy to be the 3rd Big and get minimal minutes ( at most ) in the first place

Yeah, I feel like the fact that the official twitter account tweets about this, then something is definitely up.

We aren't signing him to keep him off Miami. We are signing him because Larry think he will help us win the championship. Bynum is better than Ian. When healthy and motivated.

Yeah, the official feed of the team reporting this rumor suggests to me it's probably done but not yet announced. Hmm.

It's not just the official Twitter feed either, guys.

Pacers.com has an entry written on the story.

There's no way this isn't going through.
