You have to suspect there is more than a little legitimacy to this report. If it was NOT true you think the Pacers and Bynum's agent would be blasting it from the jump. Sad, he looked VERY good when he was on the floor.
what got my attn. from the quote I posted below is Bynum himself sounds concerned.
“This one is a little concerning for me because it caused a lot more fluid,” he said. “I haven’t had that much fluid in there since like the (2010) Boston Finals in L.A.”
we all are aware by now an MRI was run,, however sounds like the severity is more significant than most expected. including Bynum.
Either way, were not gonna be able to rely on this guy if he can only tolerate 2 games before having any pain or swelling. At most we may get 3 postseason games out of him at best.
All the hype went to Evan Turner in the deadline trade, but having Levoy Allen as a third big is huge for us in the depth department. As much I like any pacer fan hated seeing Danny dealt, it made a lot of sense to bring in another ball handler and big for a postseason run.
Hope the best for Bynum but at this point in time I will expect the worst and that his season is all but done.
I don't think anyone's saying there's no legitimacy to the commentary...It's just clear that such commentary doesn't convey Bynum's end...
