And when Kobe broke. And when Jackson left. And when Odom got Kardashian'ed. And ...............

Just can't say Bynum was quite THAT important.
Losing Mamba and Philip are definitely the biggest factors, but they underestimated Bynum's impact and chemistry with that team. He fit better than that clown Howard. Bynum is a game changing presence. When we look back on this season, we will look at the Bynum addition as the moment where the slump ended and we added some new swag.

Ian Mahinmi (ribs) remains day-to-day. Vogel said Lavoy Allen will be Hibbert's primary backup tomorrow if Mahinmi can't play. #Pacers
Glad to see Lavoy been given a chance. Sad that I'm gonna miss this game, though

He definitely was a better fit for that Lakers team than Dwight. Bynum has good passing skills and an advanced back to the basket game which allows him to prosper as a member of the triangle. Howard doesn't possess these qualities (not at the level that Bynum did, at least).

Bynum just doesn't want to get booed mercilessly tomorrow, probably.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.

Only been 2 games, but I am betting Miami is wishing they had gotten Bynum.

I think he can, but if Mahinmi is healthy and ready I wouldn't mind seeing him play again. I've missed the big Frenchman.

They wish they had gotten anyone at this point. Look at this list............

Right now, according to the so called experts. Miami should have Granger, Big Baby, Bynum, and Caron Butler on their team. However, when the trade deadline passed, and buyout time passed........they got NONE OF THE ABOVE! The Caron Butler "betrayal" was truly shocking. Everyone thought he was going to South Beach. But he went to OKC instead. Nice to see there are still players who want playing time, and aren't willing to ring chase for garbage time minutes.

I am eager to see Ian and Bynum on the floor at the same time. I just think of all the energy Ian brings. And Bynum has shown he can pass the ball. Ian will get some good looks from that. I hope Vogel tries it.

I'm all for trying out new looks if Scola needs rest. Frankly, I want to see Bynum with everyone. Ian, Copeland, Allen, let's give everyone a go.

Yep. We know what we're going to get from Scola, we absolutely need to experiment to see if any of the other guys can add something greater. Cope in particular is what I REALLY want to see, but I won't be getting my hopes up there.

Exactly. We already know what we can see out of our Centers. Ian can give us defense and Bynum can give us offense. We can judge each situation in the playoffs and use them accordingly. We just have to do this with our PFs as well.

Scola can give us scoring and rebounding. Cope could give us 3s. Lavoy could give us some scoring and defense. Ian at the PF spot would be interesting as well. He could give us more defense, rebounding and length.

We have to see who among those guys is the quickest as well. We will absolutely need some of them to chase around some small ball 4s in the playoffs. Who can keep up with them the best? Luis, Cope, Allen or Ian? That's something that we have to find out by playing them.

They did add a center yesterday.

MIAMI, FL, MARCH 14 - The Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed center Justin Hamilton and released guard DeAndre Liggins from his 10-day contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hamilton appeared in 37 games (all starts) with the HEAT’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, earlier this season and averaged 19.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.03 blocks, 1.5 assists and 35.8 minutes while shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from three-point range and 81.2 percent from the foul line. He recently appeared in one game with Charlotte, recording one steal in 3:44 minutes of action, after signing a 10-day contract with the Bobcats on March 4.

Hamilton, a 2014 NBA D-League All-Star, was originally drafted in the second round (45th overall) by Philadelphia in the 2012 NBA Draft and was acquired by the HEAT in a draft night trade. He appeared in five preseason games with Miami and averaged 2.6 points and 1.0 rebounds in 5.6 minutes. Additionally, Hamilton appeared in three 2012 Summer League games with the HEAT totaling 27 points and 12 rebounds in 56:43 minutes of action while shooting 8-of-17 from the field and a perfect 11-of-11 from the foul line. He then split the 2012-13 season with both VEF Riga (Latvia) of the VTB United League and Cibona (Croatia) of the Adriatic League before joining the Skyforce.

    Hamilton will wear number 7.

Liggins, who was signed to two 10-day contracts by the HEAT, appeared in one game with Miami totaling two points and one rebound in 1:24 minutes.

Hopefully Bynum's good play recently helps Hibbert elevate his game back to where it needs to be. Roy coming off the bench? LOL

Bynum could play like Shaq 2.0 and that wouldn't happen.

more like Bynum is a rental with a minutes limit. You create terrible chemistry problems by even considering benching a starter for a player like that.

Yep. Not to mention the defensive issues.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

His defense was better last night. Altered some shots and had a block. On offense, I just love how fluid he moves, and he is just a rebounding machine. Getting this guy was just an absolute steal. His teammates were giving him dap all night long. Like I said last week, so much for him destroying the locker room. Right now, I think his teammates are just in awe of his amazing talents. I don't think that it's a coincidence that Turner played better with Bynum tonight. Bynum creates so much space.

My prediction is that Bynum will actually be a better player than Hibbert from here on out, but I agree, it would be beyond foolish to mess around with the starting lineup. No way that happens. I'm just thrilled that we have this lethal center duo. Bynum will SHRED Miami. Combine that with the fact that Roy always morphs into Hakeem against them, and uh oh.....

I love what I'm seeing, I'm just totally nervous about whether the guy will be healthy for the playoffs. How can you really count on him being available in April?
