    Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Wait.

If it doesn't work there will be a reason to why it doesn't. If Bynum has attitude and that is the reason for the cut, then maybe the attitude will hurt us so that he will get cut.

If this bomb doesn't explode, then all will be okay. If it does...we will just get it out of the room. Nevermind it already exploded and cause some residual damage to Ian and maybe even Lance.

"West won't allow it" And so what is West going to just pick him up without him saying a word and jettisoning him out of the locker room like Thor throwing Loki?

I don't care how mature you are. If it doesn't work...it will cause damage. If Rodman didn't work...that would have caused damage.

I don't care if he has a big role on the team. The dude has a big mouth. That he stuffs lots of burritos in. And has been known to stick his big foot in that mouth.

This won't be like telling Tinsley and Ron to stay away from a team that is already dying.

It will be like peeling off a bandaid where there was no wound. It hurts. Its pulling hair with it.

And if Bynum is sent backing. The talk won't be how good we are despite it. The talk will be how he didn't work out and that will be taxing.

But IF it works then who cares.... He isn't Lance drafted to a team that hasn't made the playoffs. This risk is different. And I chose to see it as that. But it could work. I will admit that.

I've been concerned for quite a while about our lack of a 3rd center. All the players available seemed like guys that would sit at the end of the bench and only be available in an emergency. (And that was fine with me.) But the one exception was Andrew Bynum. Bynum should play for us and contribute. He has an outstanding chance to surpass Ian and be our 2nd center. If he works out he'll be an upgrade and not just an emergency body. Check out his stats this year with Cleveland compared to Ian's.

........MPG ..FG% .FT% RPG APG SPG BPG TO .PF .PPG
    Bynum.. 20.0 .419 .762 5.3 1.1 .30 1.2 1.3 1.2 8.4
    Mahinmi 16.0 .424 .622 3.1 0.3 .60 0.9 0.8 2.7 3.0

If if didn't work out, if he was flushed away in a month and the team somehow continued to be utterly devastated by the attitude of the former spare part 9th man, then they are far too mentally weak to endure a championship run all the way to the end anyway.

I don't believe this to be true in the least.

The Pacers have a way of doing business. It doesn't change for Bynum any more than it changes for Donald Sloan. If you don't buy in, tough for you. You will have flushed your opportunity for your next NBA contract. Good luck playing in China.

I don't expect to see him active for weeks.

I mean... are you worried he's going to stab somebody? How exactly do you envision it going to where he leaves scars in the lockerroom? He's going to somehow cause any two or more of the current 14 guys to turn on one another? Really? What damage? Specifically what?

No... and he may not for awhile. He probably won't play till we are comfortable with his health, and Vogel is comfortable in Bynum knowing our system. There is no rush.

If you had told me four years ago that David West and Andrew Bynum would sign with the Pacers as free agents, I'd have laughed at you.

Unfortunately the Arrest scars are deep.....Bynum was the best BIG available, and we needed one badly, if we have championship aspirations.... This could make us basketball gods!!! Please let him be healthy!!!

Look for Lance to get triple doubles at a faster rate. Bynum can catch his passes.
