Red face Andrew Bynum 13-14 General Discussion

Starting to see reports flying all over social media. Some say he has signed and others saying he is on the verge.....and others simply saying he is in town.

    Anyone heard anything?

Default Bynum is in Indianapolis, signing imminent?

Earlier tonight, some random twitter person reported that their dad had seen Vogel and Bird meeting with Bynum and the deal was done. Obviously, take a grain of salt....

But then a review of the Cavs beat writer twitters shows that Bynum WAS flying to Indy today:

    And now this?

I'm not saying TonyD is the be-all, end all here, but the man DID break the Brad Stevens to Boston story before Woj did....

The only thing that makes me skeptical is that I feel like someone with some kind of reporting news background would have some kind of beat on it. Who knows though? Flying to Indianapolis though is certainly not fun, nice find on that article Sandman.

Free agent center Andrew Bynum and his agent are in Indianapolis.

Bynum has been a free agent since being released by the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 7 after a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to earlier reports, the Indiana Pacers were one of several teams to reach out to Bynum.

Bynum’s agent David Lee told The Indianapolis Star that he and Bynum were in town. According to Lee, Bynum and the Pacers have not reached a contractual agreement.

“(Bynum) has not signed as yet,” Lee said on Friday night.

It's a low risk deal. He acts up, TPTB cut him loose after March 1st and hes no longer playoff eligible.

I'm all for it... He becomes a problem you cut him... But he could possibly be a huge addition... We will have ridiculous front line depth... This is a 2K roster...

And I've never been a fan of him on a personal level... But I want a championship damn it... You've gotta stack the deck...

    In Bird I trust indeed...

He was doing fine with LA, who wouldn't be disgruntled in Cleveland. Especially a guy that has a clock ticking.

Apparently it's not official, just serious talks according to Windhorst. Sounds like a weird tweet to follow up with his Planning to sign tweet though.

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I can't see Bird doing anything stupid, so lets see how it plays out before with spit on this signing.

If it happens, I like it.........A LOT.

    1) Unlike anyone else on the roster, he has actually been a part of championship teams.

    2) I know he has had some brutal health issues recently, but his numbers were out of this world just two seasons ago.

    3) I'm sure that the conditions are pretty clear. If he acts up and doesn't know his place on the team, then he will be tossed to the curb. Low risk/high reward.

    4) As Slick mentions, in Bird I trust.

The fact that it's Bynum kind of voids all references of any kind of champions mentality.

This really makes me wonder if Larry has something else planned in the form of a trade.

I would assume it would be Copeland based on the salary we owe him. If we could package Copeland and Mahinmi for someone with an expiring contract that would free up some space for next year if nothing else.

Trading Mahinmi now is a huge risk even if Bynum signs, he hasn't been healthy enough to count on him. Ian isn't the best but I'd rather have him then nothing it Bynum goes down.

I said i'm not a huge fan of the signing, but Bird has proven to be one of the best at his job, so I trust him. So if he thinks we need Bynum, then i'll take him
