I think that's a fair point. I love what the team has done this year but it is cause for major concern how were not dominating like before. I do think however , its a little bit of playing diown to the competition. Will take every game with the heat or playoff oponinents very seriously. I just hope we are playing our best basketball the last 15 plus games in the season
It's the NBA NOBODY dominates for a full 82 games. It's just impossible to play that well, for that long of a period of time. Besides, it's the midway point and we have 10 losses. 10!

No we aren't playing our best right now, but we have two plus months to round into form. I can tell you one thing, just about every other team minus 3-4 would love to switch places with us right now.

When was the last time we won in Atlanta? many years ago, I think
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

We clinched the first round series down there last year.

As far as the reg season is concerned, December 2006 was the last time we won there.

I think every team in the NBA would love to switch places with us. We have the best record, and will have the easiest road to the finals if things stayed this way. We are in the best position in the league!

Great win! Hope Lance is ready by Friday. Lance has unfinished business with Portland, he had a bad game there earlier in the season.

Man that fall was terrifying. I thought I just saw someone paralyze himself until he rolled over.

    Who was defending Milsap?

Cuz he was 2 for 11 shooting

Korver was 4 for 9 tonight.....but do you want to know what stat I cared about when it came to Korver? 1 for 5 shooting from 3pt range

I am glad that the Hawks leading scorer was Mike Scott ( yeah, the guy from Dunder Mifflin ) along with Elton Brand.

BTW......IF ( and I am speaking purely hypothetically here ) the Pacers are forced to let Scola go so that they have the capspace to re-sign Lance.....I'd suggest going after Elton Brand as the backup PF. He is still a solid scorer from the mid-range, can still defend the low-post ( I think he gave Hibbert some issues in the Low-Post ), is a very smart Basketball Player and can still block some shots due to his length. He signed with the Hawks for $3+ mil....if he can be had for $2.5+ mil for the season...I'd want to go after him.
Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

I don't know if anyone else would agree, but there isn't anyone I feel more comfortable about finishing on a 1 on 1 fast break than CJ Watson. He's got some pretty slick moves.
    Bring Danny off the bench

I agree. That behind-the-back move he used against Chicago and Miami is great.

Although he doesn't seem like the kind of guy, I like to imagine West circled this game on his calendar to prove that he was better than the All-Star Paul Millsap. He really showed up tonight.

I'm the opposite.. Dude gets tracked down easily..
I'm shocked whenever he finishes that break.

No post game thread? Fine. Mike Scott continues to beast it up this season. Not sure on Budenholzer keeping both Teague and Korver out, but they did get closer. Tough to tell if this was a very good defensive matchup or if the offenses just defended themselves. Ian Report: He probably got fouled by PM, but he still should have expected the contact and put that one down. Some good screening on the inside and good inside presence. He did slip for a second on one of the Scott threes and did get lucky not having to go against Ayon more than a few minutes. The bench continues to outplay the starters. 'B-'

The first regular season win in Atlanta in almost 8 years, and
perhaps more importantly a 2nd game of a back-to-back road
    win.

This was a BIG win, and David West was the man. Sweet.

West has just had an extra hop in his step over the last couple of weeks. I love seeing him play like that.

I hope Lance is OK. That was scary to watch.

I'm talking about these kind of finishes. He always has very smooth, crafty, decisive finishes at the rim. Hard to predict too. I seldom see Paul make contested finishes look this easy.

Funny that Millsap is an all star and David West is not. When West is on, he is the top PF in the East

I won't be surprised to see the Heat turn it into a track meet against us.
And I think last playoffs proved that we are capable turning it on as well.

He's been pretty good with us, but this is always in the back of my mind:

Everybody misses a wide open dunk or layup at some point in their career.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

True, but most are unlikely to spark your opponent on a 14-0 run in the last 3 minutes of a playoff game.

Yeah, because a missed dunk is why that happened.

    Anyway,

    Anyway,

Clearly not the entire reason, but it played a factor. I'd be willing to bet anything I own that if the dunk went down, that game was over.

We really need Stephenson against Portland. Hopefully he can go.
