Default Pacers / Magic Post Game Thread - 2/2

Pacers beat a Team that they should beat at Home.

Granger leads the game in scoring....from the bench in 25 minutes.....but the Pacers don't score over 100 pts

    But the Pacers win!

    Thoughts?

Granger leading the team in scoring was something I wasn't sure would ever happen again. Really wanted him to get 20

49 points for the starters, 49 points for the bench. I approve.

Really great game to see the bench get going...sucks for Ian though, that didn't look good at all, might be seeing Bynum sooner than later.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

The bench played better than the starters tonight which was nice to see. Granger was awesome. Also, a 29 point defensive second half is what I like to see. Glad that every starter, except Lance with 37 minutes(why) was under 30 minutes, so they should have a decent amount of energy tomorrow night.

Glad to see Danny scoring, but even more encouraging was his movement hopefully keeps getting healthier by the game

Great to see the team play well. Regardless of it being Orlando, maybe a confidence booster is what we needed. Might be nostalgia, but I loved seeing Granger lead the team in scoring for once. Thought it would never happen again truthfully lol. I also was hoping he'd break 20. Maybe one of these night he'll get it done

Tonight we saw the bench that could compete for a playoff seed in the East. If they play like that in the playoffs no one can touch us.

It's Lance. Lance always plays a lot of minutes when the bench is rolling because he plays with that unit a lot.

Really nice to see the 2nd unit operate the way they did tonight. Watching this 2nd unit recently has been honestly quite frustrating as our offensive execution with that unit has simply been bad of late. Too many times that unit has not gotten into any semblance of an offense and frequently finds itself fighting the shot clock for hard contested shots.....but tonight the 2nd unit was moving the ball, moving without the ball, running nice sets, trying to get each other open, and hitting the open shots they did get. It was truly great to see because ultimately how we far in the playoffs is probably going to come down to that unit and thus far that unit has not been good enough, but I still think the talent in the 2nd unit is there for us to have more games like this. So here is to hoping that the 2nd unit can build on tonight's performance and to hoping that the struggles of CJ, Danny, and Luis's shot are all a thing of the past.

Thing is, Danny didn't do anything different than he has been the past few games. He was just actually knocking down his good looks tonight. If Danny can knock down open looks, and continue to be a focal point offensively with the second unit then it'll obviously only make us a stronger team moving forward.

I would have liked to see Hill get some of those late minutes, though.

I still worry about Paul's passing. It's sloppy, and even when it's the right decision, it's not put in the right place.

But MUCH better defensive effort tonight, granted Magic just went ice cold at one point. Nice to see Granger perhaps getting his legs back.

As much as dribbling was a focus for him this past offseason, passing will need to be the focal point next summer for him.

Granger is starting to show signs of life. It's more than his stats for tonight. He's moving a little better and his confidence is starting to return.

From a minute management standpoint, I'd agree. But when Lance is having as much fun as he did tonight it's too hard to pull him early.

I still think he needs to keep focusing on dribbling too though....they were talking bout an interesting drill that Durant does during the Heat Thunder game where he has all the coaches just attack the ball and try to steal it as he tries to dribble up the court. This drill seems to have really made a big difference for Durant as this year he has been one of the best in the league at dribbling in traffic, something Paul still struggles with so it'd be nice to see PG adopt a similar drill.

Agreed. He has been attacking the basket a lot recently. Tonight he got a couple of those to go down with his threes hitting too. Also the rest of the bench was hitting their shots which is why he picked up 3 assists too. The whole bench was fantastic which was great to see with their recent struggles

Not sure who the OKC assistants are off hand....but id be kinda hard pressed to bet against Nate McMillan...helluva defender in his day...

Lance is the only player on the team to bring the effort every night. He may get carried away at times, but his effort is invaluable.
