"See how stupid those fans sound complaining about the officials. That is one reason why I hate when Pacers fans complain about the refs - does not come across well at all, no matter the merit. "
Let me make my point as clear as can be. DWEST is more important to this team hanging a banner next season than Lance.
Without DWEST we got no shot at an NBA Title. Whereas without Lance I believe we would still have a shot.
I don't give a darn about AS games etc. I care about Titles and for anyone thinks Lances role on this team is more vital than DWEST in an attempt to hang a Banner, I am going to very simply respectfully disagree.
I don't know whether Lance deserved to get in, but I know Joe Johnson did not.
Idk if this board overvalues Lance, or the coaches undervalue him, but it's probably something in the middle. I honestly thought he was a shoo-in, but I think the fact that Derozan has evolved into a legit number one option, Lowry is having a killer year in a down year for PG's in the east, and JJ has the reputation, Lance was the odd man out. It shouldn't be looked at as some type of travesty, he's 23, and if he's as good as most posters seem to think he is/going to be, then he has plenty of AS years ahead of him.
I really think it's for the best that Lance didn't make it. It's going to be tough to keep him but making the all star team would have likely been the nail in the coffin. I wish West would have made it for all he's done for this team but I understand. We have a lot of guys making personal sacrifices for the good of the team.
Hopefully Lance will be mature about this and take this as a motivation.
This is just not true. West was instrumental in creating this teams makeup. He was the leader we needed when no one else was stepping up. Now? Roy Hibbert and Paul George are leaders in their own right. George Hill, Danny Granger, and Lance Stephenson are all veterans with playoff experience. We have a very mature team. West was HUGE in helping building this teams maturity, but at this point he is not more important than Stephenson.
NOTE: I'm not saying West isn't needed anymore before someone tries taking that out of context. I'm simply saying Lance can take our team to a level Paul George can't even do. Lance has the ability to get others easy shots and to push a fast break when the other team is sleeping.
Did they let baseball coaches vote and they thought every team had to have a guy on it? How else does Johnson, who has been average and inconsistent on a mediocre team get in? Did the Russian buy the spot?
Wow. I thought I was driving the Lance-a-lot bandwagon.
Seriously though, Lance is better than Joe Johnson this year. He's a borderline all-star at this point. But HOF? He has a long way to go for that.
Joe Johnson in over Lance Stephenson? What a joke
Monta Ellis will be a star for the Blue & Gold.
I am betting the reason why Johnson got in is because his Nets have gone from the worst record in the East to the 7th seed in just a little over a month and a half. They are 10-2 this month. Most of that without Lopez.

I've always thought the coaches AS picks held more merit than the starters. The coaches basically determine the players they feel are the best players that season within each conference.
