MICHELLE BEADLE REPORTEDLY RETURNING TO ESPN
Written by Ken Fang on 21 January 2014.
It was a matter of time.
After speaking on the Sports Media Weekly podcast in September of last year and having her NBCSN show canceled, observers were counting the days to when Michelle Beadle would return to ESPN. Apparently that time is coming very soon. Sports lllustrated's Richard Deitsch reports that Beadle will be let out of her NBC contract in March and ESPN will develop a new show for her based in New York (just like Keith Olbermann's ESPN2 program).
Deitsch reports that while the show is in development, Beadle will most likely make cameo appearances on her old show, SportsNation which has moved to Los Angeles and is being co-hosted by Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley.
Beadle has not appeared on NBC Sports/NBCSN since "The Crossover" was canceled in September and was noticeably absent from the NBCUniversal Sochi Olympics talent roster. She had been on the NBC-produced Access Hollywood in the interim.
Beadle was signed by NBC to much fanfare in 2012 and was praised for her hosting duties at the London Olympics on NBCSN, but the relationship with the Peacock bosses began to sour shortly after "The Crossover" premiered in January of 2013.
She'll return to ESPN where she maintained good relationships and expect to see her on some of the major events the Worldwide Leader televises in 2014 and beyond.
