Default Kings to wear Google Glass the 24th vs the Pacers

Not during the game, but some players, cheerleaders and the mascot will all take some time to wear them. Interestingly it is against the Pacers, for which I am interested in seeing them through the eyes of their opponent...

Sweet, so we can get a first person perspective on what it looks like to be schooled by the best team in the NBA.

Can't wait. I love the idea of "ref cam" to get a first-hand view of what the ref saw.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Sounds fun. I want to see a live feed of players sidestepping West as they walked to bench because they know he's going to walk through them if they dont.

Sounds interesting, however, if I were the coach would probably
view this as being an unnecessary and unwanted distraction.

They did this with the MLS all star game this past year. It was very cool and gave you a good look at how hectic a refs job is.

The WNBA has done it before in BLF:

Doubt that will ever happen since about 70% of the time a call gets made you'll see that the ref wasn't even looking at it...

Friday night is Google Glass night at Sacramento Kings game

It’s one of the features of Google Glass — you can stream the video of people wearing the computer-in-your-eyewear “glasses.”

So what if you gave them to a player during warm-ups, a cheerleader, a sideline reporter and others at an NBA game?

We will find out Friday night as the Sacramento Kings host the Indiana Pacers with their Google Glass Game — some of the streaming images from the glasses will be shown on the jumbotron at Sleep Train Arena. The video above is from a test run the Kings did on Jan. 12, including having Derrick Williams and Rudy Gay wear them in warm-ups.

The entire process is powered by CrowdOptic, which according to a press release is “a software platform which analyzes the real-time Google Glass feeds and curates them by their subject matter and quality, exporting only the highest quality live footage to the arena scoreboard.” Not really sold this is the wave of the future, but it could be interesting for a night.

So, I want to see the horror 4 point play w/ Google Glass technology! /green
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

It was pretty lame honestly. Idk they needed more footage from players IMO.

They tried that in the WNBA. It remains one of my all time favorite WNBA moments. (Hilarious, but I doubt it'll happen in the NBA..because of exactly what happened in the WNBA. Also, it blocked the refs view a bit.)
