Default Paul George asked to be in dunk contest, three point shootout, and skills competition.

    http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap...ills-Challenge

The NBA essentially just asked Paul George to highlight NBA All-Star Weekend.

Are.....are the Pacers getting marketed by the NBA?!?!?!

    I don't know.

Usually I'd say yes, but then again, every PG in the NBA is currently injured.

We are being marketed a lot this year, actually. They are giving us the props that we deserve.

I hate the dunk contest pretty much now after Vince Carter and Jason Richardson. It's just a silly side show now, and PG really has nothing to gain from it with the scrubs they put in it. Now if you could get LeBron, PG, Blake, and Dwight or Durant or something then go for it.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

JAVALE MCGEE DUNKED 3 BALLS AND DUNKED ON 2 HOOPS.

Seriously. McGee's an idiot as an actual player but that was an all timer. He didn't just try two things we've never seen, his completed them. Invite him every year. If he'd of completed that 2 rim dunk with the crucifixion pose he tried, MAN.

Though the chances are slim, George said he'll consider competing in an event, and he plans to decide in the next few days.

Paul George was asked to take part in the slam dunk, 3pt, skills challenge at All-Stars. Hasn't declined, but rather enjoy the weekend.

I'd need to go back and watch but the dunk contest has become too technical. Guy's trying to do new, ****ing INSANE, stuff. Like I said need to go back and watch, but feels like when Carter and Richardson destroyed it I remember them just taking the ball and just killing it, first try. Last time I got that sorta vibe was Griffin's first dunk try with that 360 from like 13 feet out with enough torque to push a Ferrari.

Although George —who made his first All-Star appearance as a player last year — has not completely closed the door on the possibility, he confirmed that he likely will not participate in other All-Star weekend events such as the Skills Contest and will not make a return appearance to the 3-point Shootout.

SG/SFS don't compete in the skills contest, and when is the last time an all star starter has been in the 3 point contest?

Of course the NBA is trying to market PG and the Pacers! They have a GREAT shot at the NBA finals! It boils down to ratings dollars. They don't want a small market team with little recognizable faces. Obviously, we are making our mark, but the NBA is going to give us a bump! Smart NBA... smart...

Yes. He also started the all star game that year.

To me, it shows a confidence that the NBA has in the Pacers. And while they cannot singlehandedly put a deserving Lance in the game, they are doing what they can do to help our marketability...

I really hope, with the sell-outs and the additional marketing that Simon goes over the LT for Lance. This is a special group. Would love to see them all together for 2 more years!!

This is awesome. PG is just the star the NBA deserves. Someone like Lebron is too scared to compete in the dunk contest, and too unskilled to take part in any shooting or ballhandling competitions.

LeBron is "too unskilled" ? Really brah?

I'm sure LeBron has been invited to all 3 before as well.

btw does anyone have any idea why Indiana has never had a shooting stars team? With Reggie, Catchings, and Granger before and now George, we'd seem to have just about the best team I can think of.

He should decline the dunk contest until they change the rules. The dunk contest has turned into a total joke at this point. Um.....lets see......give the guys like ten tries to complete a dunk.....ridiculous.
