Didn't Blake have 17 in the first half!?
And aside from those flagrant Ft's he went
    Scoreless in the second half!?
He didn't went absolutely scoreless. I remember an and-1 jumper against Danny and I also remember some FTs.

But yeah, Danny did a great job on him. He battled him for every inch. Mahinmi did an excellent job as well. In fact, I don't even remember Griffin taking a shot off when guarded by Ian.

Danny Granger is exactly what this team needed to help it win a championship.
I agree, aside from just his consistent production he will give us off the bench, he gives us the ability to go small with out losing anything on the Defensive end. I really think we will see alot of Lance, PG, Danny line up on the floor at key times in the playoffs.

What does it say about Blake Griffin's game when Doc Rivers had to make a quick adjustment to get Granger off of Blake on the defensive end. Some superstar...
Blake's a beast. He either kills you with mobility, or power, or leaping ability. But Danny's got just as much mobility, is strong enough not to be backed down, and our team defense kept him out of places where he could use his leaping ability.

This isn't a new thing. Danny's always defended PFs very well.

In Blake's defense, the dude has had a great year, and he is the best PF in the game
I don't see how you can say that. Both times he has faced the Pacers this season he has got owned. First by West, and then by Danny Granger. Best PF in the game doesn't get man handled like this. Blake Griffin has been hyped up too much in my opinion, I would take LaMarcus Aldridge as the best PF this year.

If it gets results like tonight, it's fine with me.

Oh yeah, I forgot Aldridge plays PF for Portland, I was thinking he played center. Ok 2nd best PF in the game

No doubt, Aldridge is #1. But Blake hardly got "owned" tonight; 19-8-4 is a very respectable game.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

meh, not like Blake's a defensive stopper. he's better than Love for sure, but Love's got a bigger offensive impact obviously. I dunno, kind of a tossup for me, depends on who the rest of my team is. me, personally, I'd take Blake, because I can just throw the ball in the vicinity of the rim all day, I call it shooting.

I don't think anyone outside of a few Blake die-hards would put him as the best PF in the league. The Love-LaMarcus battle rages on, with Kevin putting up better numbers but LA's team continuing to contend. Then you have to add in Bosh, Dirk, Duncan (if he's a PF), Lee and with Z-Bo and Smoove further down the line followed by Serge, West, and Pau. It's not clear Blake is top-5 considering his lack of defensive prowess and over-visibility off the court.

Edit: and everyone already posted on this discussion, whatever bros.

Seriously though, how long's it gonna take for either Griffin or some random Clipper scrub (lookin at you Ryan Hollins) to light somebody up for punking on Blake? It happens A LOT.

yea that was a mistake by me. I was thinking Aldridge played center over there, but I remembered they have Lopez, so I agreed Aldridge was the best PF in the game by far

It's gotta be soul crushing to see the Pacers go to the bench and bring in more starters. Pacers give you 48 mins of hell.

I like to read opposing teams forums after wins just to see what the general vibe is from the rest of the league about our Pacers I find it interesting.....

And one point a lot of people try to make to downgrade what the Pacers are doing is that they think refs let us get away with fouls and our D is great because the refs buy into our reputation

Well NEWS FLASH NBA we just played a game where we weren't allowed to BREATHE on a Clipper and still was PURE DOMINATION!!!!!!!

Griffin is playing really good this year. His post game has improved. His footwork is good this year and he seems comfortable backing his man down and throwing baby hook shots over both shoulders. His jumper is a weapon now and he has improved his FT% as well. He has really polished his offensive arsenal. Doc probably deserves credit for that.
I remember in the Jalen and Bill preseason show, they talked about how it might helps both Clippers and Wolves if they switched Griffin and Love.
I guess Clippers don't have to now.

no fanbase likes to admit they got their asses beat by a better team. nobody ever wants to say "well, they were just better," certainly not in the heat of the moment in a game thread. not gonna give the opponent credit cuz screw them, don't wanna talk crap about your own guys, so there's only one option.

the Pacers "win cuz of the refs" a lot this year. and I love it.

We are so fortunate to have the luxury of Danny comming off the bench. This year is the Pacers best shot st a tittle. I dont see how they can keep Danny next year and its really a shame.

Sure the numbers are respectable, but in reality he did get "Owned" because with Scola picking up his 4th foul with 5 minutes left in the 3rd, Clippers were threatening, and the Pacers having to switch to Granger, who is coming back from injury....well a top 5 PF should be FEASTING on that Situation. But Griffin failed so horribly on the offensive end that Coach Rivers went small after only a few minutes and put in all his shooters to try and get some sort offense. It was a key moment in the game and he got Owned.

I've thought for a long, long time that Granger would make a good PF. He's able to block shots, rebound and he's a strong guy. I know it takes a toll on the body because of the constant banging. But he can do it well for stretches and he showed that tonight.
