Default Frank Vogel will be the Eastern All Stars Head Coach

I kept wanting us to keep pace over Miami so that Frank would be the Eastern Head Coach, but I forgot about the "Riley Rule" that states a coach cannot be named head coach of the all-star team in consecutive seasons. So Erik Spoelstra cannot be named head coach even if Miami were to have the best record.

With Spoelstra out of the running, then Frank just has to finish with a better winning percentage than the Hawks (10.5 games back as of today).

Granted I hope he has the best record, but he will be the coach either way. This also means that Gregg Popovich cannot be the Western Head Coach.

I still want to keep pace ahead of Miami anyways, but it is a cool accomplishment.

No, but he would get to select what bench player starts if there is an injury to one of the 5 voted in.

No. All the coaches from each conference send in their picks and they're selected that way.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

I really wanna see how the dynamic plays with the Heat guys at the shootarounds and all those events over the weekend. No secret there's no love lost between the teams, gonna be fun.

Hmmm heard something interesting on ESPN, with the Eastern conference obviously being weak, and Miami likely to get 3 all-stars in Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James, how does Indiana not get 3 all-stars? They said we will likely have Paul George, Roy Hibbert, and Lance Stephenson in the all-star game

No, but that would be hilarious if he could. "And here are Vogel's all star picks for the bench, ahem.... Roy Hibbert, David West, C.J. Watson, Danny Granger, Luis Scola, Chris Copeland, and Orlando Johnson.... Quite some shockers there"

Should be interesting to see how the Heat/Pacers members pretend to like eachother for a few days. I'd personally start lebron and wade then sit them out for the rest of the game.

I'd make them play the whole 48mins. Wear them out as much as possible.

I thought LeBron and PG were pretty buddy-buddy? Now if Lance gets in... that'd be interesting.

No offense to him, but Lance making the all star game would be a catastrophe for us.

If Lance makes the all star game he is going to get paid more than Gordon Hayward this summer and that is a scary ****ing thing.

OK, quick how many Pacers coaches have coached an allstar team.

I believe 3 times it has occurred. '98, '03 and '04. Bird, Isiah and Carlisle.

I can see why they changed the rule because of Pat Riley. he coached 6 straight and 8 out of 9 as coach of the Lakers.

Rick Fox proclaimed Lance to be an all star last night on Gametime.

The good news is, Rick Fox proclaimed A LOT of guys to be all stars last night on Gametime.

I highly doubt the coaches vote in Kyle Lowry over Lance Stephenson

DeRozan will get in before both of them. And Drummond should get in before Noah.

No way Noah should get in over Drummond imo. Somebody will get in from Toronto if they continue to play the way they are atm, might be DeRozan over Lowry though.

The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I didn't think about the ramifications of Lance Stephenson becoming an All-Star. All-Stars get paid big.

I'd still love to see him play in the All-Star game though. Can you imagine him running a fast break with PG, Lebron, and Drummond? Who does he throw the alley-oop too? What are the odds that he throws a no-look, off-the-backboard pass at some point in the game? A double-crossover, spin move, step back, hesitation dribble, drive for a layup is going to happen at some point, right? The possibilities are endless.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

I do not see any other Centers making it, and no way Lowry makes it along with Derozan. So This list is pretty solid in my opinion.
