    Default Pacers keeping Rasual Butler

    http://indy.st/KBddfv

Forward Rasual Butler will have his contract guaranteed by the Indiana Pacers, barring an unforeseen event, The Indianapolis Star learned.

According to league sources, in the case of an unlikely trade, Butler will remain with the team. The Pacers are not involved in trade talks, and the deadline for non-guaranteed contracts to become guaranteed for the rest of the season is 5 p.m. EST Tuesday.

Butler signed with the team in September and made the roster out of training camp to increase the Pacersí count to 14 players. After his contract becomes guaranteed, Butler will make the NBA veteranís minimum of a little more than $1.3 million.

Good to hear.....he's a solid veteran presense on the bench and at this point ( which I guess can be seen as a "bad thing" ) a better option than OJ or Solo if we needed an emergency Wingman.

For the role that he would serve.....basically stand at the 3pt line to take and hit a shot when given the opportunity...yeah...his "game" is better. That doesn't mean that he's the better Player for the long term.....compared to OJ and Solo...it just means that Rasual is better at filling the role that we need him to fill for now.....hit 3pt shots when called upon to do that.

Lol I would never watch another game again if the Pacers made any type of deal with the Bulls unless it involved Mahimi for Noah and like 3 first round picks!

If we get to the Finals, he will be the secret weapon. Like Plumlee last year.

We need to play Copeland though. We need more offense off the bench. Scola, Copeland, Ian, Danny, CJ. Danny is hitting the 3 nicely but Copeland is an extra threat.

That was in green. I was just reflecting on the day. We hear the Bulls want Lance. I don't think that's happening. But I do think Bynum is headed to South Beach.

I think if he goes anywhere it'll be the Clippers. The opportunity to play with CP3 over Chalmers? Easy choice.

Isn't CP3 injured? Also, Cleveland has a beef with both him and LeBron. I would be surprised if he wasn't headed there. That's what the NBA is about. Good players joining other good players to cause imbalances in talent so competition is diminished.

You're confusing the NBA with college basketball.

When it comes to the Heat.....it's not the opportunity to play with Chalmers over CP3.....it's the opportunity to play with LeDecision, Wade, TagAlong and get a tan on the beach over CP3 and the Griffin Force.

I was joking because the first post said "Wingman" like with his "game" he's going to help you mack on girls.

I will admit it was not a great joke.

I agree that I would play him over OJ and Solo based on what I've seen.

I literally laughed out loud at this.

My sense of humor may need a tune-up.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

    Glad we're keeping Sual.

Just reading those quotes from a few games ago when Lance was going all "Bad Lance" and Sual was able to talk him off the ledge at halftime and then Lance came out and had a huge second half told me ALL I needed to know about Rasual Butler and his place on this team.

He has balled really well when given the opportunity as well. Pure gravy, as I see it.

Always good to have a guy at the end of his career that has the perspective of understanding going after the now and not allowing your emotions to get the better of you.

Another interesting question is how does he compare to Sam Young? I haven't seen enough of Butler D-ing up elite players, so I don't know how much worse his (Butler's) defense is. His offense must be better.
