Default Pacers Vs. Pelicans Post- Game Thread 1/4/2014

Pacers win.......Lance carried the Team on his back in the 2nd half. The Bench of CJ/Granger/Scola/Mahinmi came up big this game with 29 points.

Also....I don't see how Lance isn't going to get any contract offer less than what Tyreke got in the offseason ( $11 mil a year ).

    Thoughts?

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

Absolutely. Lance dominating the post is a spectacle worth watching.

Crazy sports day! Glad Pacers were able to dominate in 2nd half, hoping for a successful back-to-back against Cleveland.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

The source of this team's creativity, the dynamo of this team aka Lance Stephenson seems to keep getting better all the time and even showing us new things today (post domination). Love it.

I missed the first half, but I liked what I saw in the second. No real negatives. Pacers played reasonably efficiently on offense and extremely well on defense. So great watching them clamp down.

I'm also (shocking to no one, I know) really enjoying watching Granger continue to improve. He's already doing more than many claimed he ever would, and it feels like we're still just seeing glimpses of what he's able to give us. Our wing rotation is gonna be so solid by the playoffs.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

The Pacers just looked bored and uninspired in the 1st half which was basically how we played vs Toronto. I guess this happens at times over the course of the season. When this team is locked in though they are very hard to beat.

The starters got hit with Pelican droppings in the first but picked up the D in the third after some much needed help from a strong bench. Lance can draw extra defenders with his penetration, and Luis can do the same with his post-ups, but Danny does both of those things (albeit somewhat awkwardly at the moment). Such a luxury in terms of getting good shots. It should help our shooting and bring our offense to a better place, though the turnovers are another smarter person's problem.

Ian Report: He is credited with one block, zero defensive rebounds, and zero steals (); I don't even.... I thought his rim protection along with CJ's aggressiveness on offense paved the way for the comeback. Roy (after struggling in the first) took up the mantle in the third by dismantling the shots at the rim that the Pels took. They were helpless, and Reke only got it going in garbage time. The Pels seemed undermanned despite a great shooting performance from Ajinca. A- for Ian for missing that damn free throw.

Nice bounce back win. Need to keep it rolling against Cleveland tomorrow. These bad starts are getting annoying.

I'm very happy to see Danny able to be a major contributor on this team and have it translate to wins. Lance is balling right now and Paul just keeps being Paul. Come on playoffs!

Agreed. It's so awesome to see him playing well again. Not only because we need the contributions he brings that OJ, Solo and Rasual can't, but because of those years he carried this team and kept it respectable. Danny's one of those guys that just gets it, a pro's pro. I especially enjoyed all the little things... tying up Tyreke for the jump ball, etc. As he continues to find his groove with the new players like Scola and CJ, I think he'll be one of our most important pieces on this championship run.

We are all still in shock. Colts win and I can say that I haven't even started celebrating it yet. My mouth is still gaped open, I'm scratching my head, wondering in amazement how the hell we pulled that one out.

This Pelicans team is going to be really good in a couple years. Holiday and Davis are a perfect guard/big tandem, especially if Davis continutes to work on that midrange jumper and can extend for that pick-n-pop midrange jumper while also being a threat going to the rim. Holiday's defense at the point guard position is exceptional, Davis at the rim as well. True cornerstones for a franchise. Gordon's health and being able to extend/retain these pieces to long term contracts will be key for them in the future, and adding a few small pieces to the bench because they're so thin. But they could be scary and scary soon, even in the West.

Yeah those pieces don't fit together some players need to go, that team last year had a better fit with Lopez and Vasquez, they should have kept that group together one more year.

    26-6.

The Pacers are serious 'bout that #1 seed. This is getting interesting, the race to #1 seed between us and Heat.
