My dad said they have a total of 2 ft of snow in Northern Indiana.

And the US 30 exit off of 31 was icy(in case anyone was driving near that area) and my dad's car flipped he didn't see it coming. Fortunately someone came to rescue him and his wife and the guy who towed his car his daughter took them home. I'm just glad they weren't hurt.

I'm glad they are safe. That sounds scary.

It did I mean I would've gotten them if there wasn't a 2.5 hour drive they took the long route home since he wasn't sure the backroads were cleaned well.

My dad and I had a similar accident like this using the backroads but we drove in separate cars so at least I was there and we didn't have to wait for anyone to give us a ride.

It won't be bitterly cold but it will be the usual snow, sleet, freezing rain

They say we'll get a reprieve the next few days and then it will start to snow again.

I usually never let the winter weather get to me, but this winter is wearing me out.

will predict that February will be above average temps. Things usually even out
So the next couple of days should warm up some, not as much as hoped, and then another cold spell with many opportunities for Winter storms returns thru the rest of the month and into March.

I will NEVER listen to an Unclebuck weather prediction again!!!!!!

I always like it when I know people actually read my posts. (I'm usually a little surprised) OK, then I guess I need to predict that March and April will be much above normal to make up for a very cold January and Feb. Of course if it stays cold through April, I will just then predict it will be extra hot in may and June. I promise my prediction of above normal temps to even out January and February will come true (just might be a few months down the road)

FYI: When I was younger I was interested in weather (still am) but I would drive my family nuts with weather predictions. Wonder why they never encouraged me to be a meteorologist

I think you just need to stop predicting weather since the opposite tends to happen. Even so, that's still more accurate than most TV stations weather forecasters so maybe you are on to something.

I wonder what the latest measurable snow is in Indy history? April 14/15 would have to be pushing it. It would be appropriate if we set another wretched record.

It's snowed later than this before. But this is annoying

    Nothing unusual here.

Average date of last freeze (below freezing temps) in Indianapolis. April 17th. Latest ever freeze May 27th. So we are no where near a record.

Average date for last measurable snowfall - Between March 31 and April 11th. - not sure why I couldn't find an exact date.
Latest measureable snowfall in Indianapolis May 11th.

Eh it won't stick or be a major driving issue.

That being said I'm waiting until late Summer to change my tires.

That's what I was thinking. I hadn't heard of or thought about changing tires for the season since like 1979...

If your car comes with summer tires on it stock, you best put winter tires on if you want to stop or start in the snow easily. Otherwise your tread will fill up. My S6 doesn't have all seasons.

    What are summer tires.

I remember back in the 70's my family had an old station wagon and we would put snow tires on it, but that was rear wheel drive. One year we even put tires with studs on them.

I still have the tires I bought my car with...I don't change anything and haven't had any problem.

My car is currently covered in snow. Blast it all
