Thread: Which one is possible?

  1. #1

    Exclamation Which one is possible?

If we trade Danny and Orlando for Demar Derozan or Terrance Ross from Toronto, which one hurts our cap less? I think both would be great off the bench for us. I trade-checked this at Real GM, works if we take back Novak in the deal.

Danny and Orlando for DeRozan and Novak. Or Ross and Novak. Second unit..

    Scola
    Novak
    Ian
    Ross
    Watson

    or

    Scola
    Novak
    Ian
    Demar
    Watson

This should be in the trade proposals section.
Yay, I don't know if we're going back to the play-offs!

We need every bit of Danny's 14 mil.+ expiring contract to cover the cost of Paul George's increase next year and (hopefully) a new contract for Lance.

Therefore we can't afford to take back any contracts that extend beyond this year (Without shipping out more guys).
Toronto doesn't have any big expiring to trade us. Their largest is Lowery's at 6 mil and change. I'ts not half enough (and creates more problems).

So the starting point of all such trades is to forget about signing Lance.
Is that what you had in mind?

Nope. I think Danny might take too long to get back to being Danny, so if you add a Derozan and Novak, or Ross and Novak, and trade Danny and Orlando....I think it just stacks our chances of beating Miami. Having an athlete like DeRozan off the bench and sometimes playing with PG and Lance would be fun to watch. Anything to get LBJ and Wade in more foul trouble. Also Novak roaming the perimeter would be a bonus.

I feel this way because watching Danny get blocked by PP last night, he doesn't seem to have his legs under him yet. Or maybe he's just getting old? I dunno. Derozan though can ball. Playing a lineup of him, PG, and Lance would be the most athletic lineup of all time. Perfect combat for Miami. Not saying we can't beat Miami as presently constructed. But DeRozan makes our chances greater. We need a combination of players to force the refs to call fouls on Wade and Lebron. While good defenders they are, I think they'd be in over their heads having to guard PG, Lance, and DeRozan. Not to mention West and Hill at times (LBJ).

Can we please stop with these trade proposals. Seriously, why the hell would we make any trades. We don't have any missing pieces, and it is extremely unlikely any trade would actually make this team better.

If we traded Danny then I bet we could have the best record in the league right now!

I'd love it if it weren't for the Lance situation. Well, that and if Toronto would even go for it. Why would they do this?

WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO MOVE PIECES TO BE SATISFIED WITH OUR ROSTER.
We are the best team in the NBA, why are you constantly trying to blow it up?

Vogel said just the other day that our team seems "complete" now with Granger back on the floor. I think Larry & Frank would really like to give him a chance to win a ring while he's still a Pacer. It would take a heck of a trade offer to send Danny packing before the playoffs.

Well to shed salary really. Granger's expiring, Orlando's cheap deal.

Moving Danny isn't blowing it up. On the contrary, it's replacing one piece that may never return to what he was, for a more athletic, playoff ready piece. Orlando isn't getting used really with Danny back so moving Danny and Orlando isn't blowing it up.

So your choosing DeRozan over Stephenson pretty much? Awful decision

You think you are going to get an athletic playoff ready piece for an older player who hasn't proved if he is going to get injured again, and at this point in time is playing bad.

Novak would also never touch the floor as a Pacer (see: Chris Copeland)

And Toronto does this why? Trade us a 20+ ppg 24 year old for somebody who will never be more than a decent bench piece and Granger who is 30 with a question mark over his knees and health?

Shed salary. DeRozan is vastly overpaid and is such for the next 2-3 seasons IIRC. Danny's contract is expiring.

That being said, nothing being discussed in here has any chance of happening.
