Roy's offensive game can be neutralize we need his offense against Miami too, that is the reason why the got Oden.

And that is when you run the pick and roll with Roy and exploit the fatty.

If Roy was Amare in his prime you might have a point but Roy is not that quick for that, I actually don't remember that many pick and roll plays with him that got him close to the basket, must of the stuff he gets from pick and roll are jumpers.

Bynum was pretty worthless vs Hibbert if I remember when Cavs played. Bynum would pretty much be a worse defensively noted crippled center than Oden. Oden was more known for his defense, but hasn't played since 2009. Bynum could make Hibbert work defensively though, but I'd rather them have Bynum with the ball than LeBron or Wade.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I'm sure he doesn't. But he does want to collect that other $6 million, and I sincerely doubt he'd quit less than 2 weeks shy of getting it.

Did you watch the Heat game in INDY? Roy was in the pick and roll. Roy is quick enough to dig into the lane with other defenders guarding him, how much more than with a slob like Bynum? And honestly the only jumpers Roy gets is when West is the roll man and Roy is stretched on the baseline.

Bynum is so slow he would make Roy look like Amare in his prime.

Ahhhh.... but go thru the motions just enough to think it would get him to that guaranteed contract? ....And had his bluff called? Yeah, I think that could happen.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

Bynum doesn't seem to have much foresight.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.

Back on topic: I really hope Miami signs him. I'd much rather he get minutes than Birdman or even Haslem.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Yeah I hate Haslem because he always seems to shoot 90% vs the Pacers.

what else are they gonna say and all, but still

    http://www.hoopsworld.com/cavaliers-...num-suspension

“It’s a terrible situation internally with our team but it’s something we’ve got to get over,” Kyrie Irving said. “It’s coach’s decision, it came from the management, that’s kind of where it stays, with management. … We need him out there. He is a dominant force for our team and it’s hard. You lose a teammate, but with this situation it gives everybody else a chance to step up. That’s kind of how we look at the situation. He’s going to be missed but you’ve got to still play games so that’s what it’s about.”

Bynum’s career has had its share of controversies, including reports that he does not like basketball. In spite of this, Jarrett Jack didn’t see signs of distaste for the game.

“I’ve never gotten that vibe from him,” Jack said. “Just watching him over the course of the season, tremendous work ethic, trying to work himself back into game shape, always in the weight room working on his game by himself. That was kind of the mark for me, was him just showing he wanted to be here, wanted to be back, and get back to as close to the playing shape he used to be in that everybody was used to when he was playing with the Lakers.”

“He’s going to be missed,” said Irving. “But he has a few things he needs to address for himself before he comes back to the team and that’s where it stands.”
Never a good thing when your franchise cornerstone is talking about how your team's in a terrible situation internally.

I read somewhere that if the Nets made a straight Pierce-for-Bynum swap, they'd save a staggering $45 million after waiving Bynum before the second half of this year's salary becomes guaranteed.

Even for a gazillionaire, that has to be a tempting trade.

You know the more I think about it the more impressive it is between him and Odom that the Lakers got two more rings out of these fools.
It is amazing what having a serious chance to win a championship can do for focus, as well, correct me if I am wrong, I am pretty sure Bynum was still on his rookie contract for at least one if not both of those championships. Meaning he had financial reasons to stay in line.

A small thing, but Bynum actually signed his huge extension the year before the Lakers ripped two straight championships.

Perhaps he was drafted in 2005 and they won titles in 2009 and 2010 so yeah that's possible.

I hope Oden does terrible for the Heat when they bring him out against us in the ECF and it costs them a game they should win. That would be great if Oden plays worse than Haslem and Birdman.

I think Bynum would cause Hibbert alot of troubles in a playoff series with Miami. They could just instruct him to body up Hibbert on both ends of the floor and keep him from recovering to challenge most of Miami's drives to the basket. Miami could use him just like Birdman last year, dump it off on a drive and get the easy dunk.

With Lopez going down you cant help but wonder if the Nets will make a run at Bynum...

I was thinking they'd trade for him and waive him before the second portion of this year's salary becomes guaranteed, but I could see Mutant Cuban taking a huge risk in hopes that Bynum works out. Like doubling down on a 19.
