Default More variations on a theme (trade thread)

Extreme: Indiana trades Fred Jones, Anthony Johnson, Jonathan Bender, and Austin Croshere for Dale Davis, Derek Fisher, and Mickael Pietrus.

Lite: Gill, Jones, and Croshere for DD and Peitrus.

I know, I know, probably better to make no move than a bad move. But I think those are good moves, and I think the team needs a move of some kind to get some energy and excitement. Most of all, I think the Warriors make a natural trading partner, both because of the many Indy connections and because both teams have needs that the other could meet.

I like the 2nd one, which means it will not happen. The Warriors like Pietrus and DD contract is BIG and expiring, so that certainly has worth too.

If we want to make a run for Pietrus (I'm for it) I think we are going to see us having to give up more.

    How about this:
Indiana trades: SF Jonathan Bender (6.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 14.6 minutes)
    C Scot Pollard (6.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 0.8 apg in 23.9 minutes)
SF James Jones (5.2 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.8 apg in 20.3 minutes)
Indiana receives: C Dale Davis (2.0 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 14.1 minutes)
SG Mickael Pietrus (8.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 20.0 minutes)
SF Calbert Cheaney (4.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 18.4 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -2.9 ppg, -2.9 rpg, and +0.7 apg.

Golden State trades: C Dale Davis (2.0 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 14.1 minutes)
SG Mickael Pietrus (8.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 20.0 minutes)
SF Calbert Cheaney (4.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 18.4 minutes)
Golden State receives: SF Jonathan Bender (6.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 14.6 minutes)
    C Scot Pollard (6.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 0.8 apg in 23.9 minutes)
SF James Jones (5.2 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.8 apg in 20.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +2.9 ppg, +2.9 rpg, and -0.7 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Indiana and Golden State being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and Golden State had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    OR this:

Indiana trades: PF Austin Croshere (10.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 28.7 minutes)
    C Scot Pollard (6.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 0.8 apg in 23.9 minutes)
PG Anthony Johnson (4.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.8 apg in 21.3 minutes)
SG Fred Jones (11.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.6 apg in 33.3 minutes)
Indiana receives: C Dale Davis (2.0 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 14.1 minutes)
PG Speedy Claxton (12.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 5.9 apg in 32.3 minutes)
SG Mickael Pietrus (8.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 20.0 minutes)
SF Calbert Cheaney (4.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 18.4 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -4.7 ppg, -6.1 rpg, and +0.8 apg.

Golden State trades: C Dale Davis (2.0 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 14.1 minutes)
PG Speedy Claxton (12.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 5.9 apg in 32.3 minutes)
SG Mickael Pietrus (8.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 20.0 minutes)
SF Calbert Cheaney (4.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 18.4 minutes)
Golden State receives: PF Austin Croshere (10.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 28.7 minutes)
    C Scot Pollard (6.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 0.8 apg in 23.9 minutes)
PG Anthony Johnson (4.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.8 apg in 21.3 minutes)
SG Fred Jones (11.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.6 apg in 33.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +4.7 ppg, +6.1 rpg, and -0.8 apg.

Looking back on number 2 I think we probably are going to have to include atleast a later first rounder.
