Dont the coaches pick an alternate player if an injured player gets voted in?
You are absolutely right. I still think that players like Wall and Irving will get more votes but that gives him better chances. Lance is definitely one of the top 5 SGs in the East at the moment (at least). It's just that the PG crop is good enough in order to only have 1 SG in the ASG.

I'm usually one of those 'wait-and-see' sorta pessimistic guy that needs to watch the season play out and whatnot. But, the more I watch this team, the more I feel that this year could actually be OUR YEAR! Does anyone else feel that way?
I think everyone on this board think we have a legit shot

Nobody outside of Miami's big three will make it, right?

If the Pacers only get two in, are they really going to get 7 players from the rest of the conference?

But even during the Reggie year, I've never felt this strong about actually winning the finals.

Until the brawl occurred I was 100% convinced the 04-05 Pacers team was going to win the title.

I felt exactly the same way. I knew there wasn't a better team than that one. And I knew that team would have destroyed the Lakers if they had made the Finals the year before too. I was still pretty early in my twenties then and I didn't understand that having the best team in terms of ability wasn't enough. You also had to have the team that was mentally ready to be the champ.

My wish was Danny could score at least 12 points against the Rockets. It happened tonight. My next wish is for him to reach 18 in Nets game.

JMO, but Lance's little dance is going to cost him money. I don't see the NBA being amused at all.

I will get criticized for this, but here it goes anyway. I really like Lance's game, I mean I like his talent, skills, passing, everything. But he rubbed me the wrong way tonight, to the point that I did not cheer when he got the triple double. I did not appreciate his antics, his celebrating was way over the top for me, his new shimmy or what ever it us, is uncalled for. If a celtics players had taken a very hard foul on him I would have been fine with it.

I have to believe his antics tonight also did not please Frank Vogel. I believe frank called the timeout right after lance got the triple double in order to get lance out so ge would not get another standing ovation.

Maybe i am an old fuddy dud, but to me that was a tainted triple double.

I don't ever recall the NBA fining someone for showboating, EVER! A tech during the game sure, but never after the fact. Anyone remember that happening?

If the Celtics dont like Lance's showboating then make the starters play the 4th quarter. You got spanked. Lance was dominating. Dont want him to dance? Stop him.

I can get what you're saying about his antics. I have no problem at all with his antics (I love them, actually) but that's because I never have a problem with players that celebrate good plays (I love Noah as well) but I can certainly see how they could rub someone the wrong way.

However, the triple double was in no way tainted. He earned that on the court because he had 7/9/8 at the end of the 3rd quarter while playing within the offense.

Ok ok good point. Maybe tainted is not the correct word. But I was embarrassed to the point where I did not want him to get the triple double. I kind of wanted him pulled before he got it

Has lance gotten a triple double in a close game yet?

No, but when Lance gets a trip dub, the game isn't likely to be close anyway...

I hope they are talking about some of his great passes instead of his embarrassing shimmy

Boston fans and announcers had no problems with the extra curricular antics when it was KG doing them.

I saw an interview once with Method Man and they asked him why Raekwon and Ghostface always have beef with other rappers and his answer was: "Those guys hate everybody." Whenever I watch Lance play I think of that quote.

He wouldn't be Born Ready if it weren't for the antics. At least he's consistent. It's not like he only does it against lesser team like the Celtics. He enjoys taunting the Heat too. His teammates get a kick out of it, and he's been a huge reason for the team winning so many games this year. I have no problem with it and personally think it's hilarious. You take the antics away and you're simply left with Lance Stephenson instead of Born Ready.

Can you imagine what he would do if the clock was ticking down on a game in which the Pacers were going to eliminate the Heat? I think he would start doing cartwheels in front of the Heat bench. He might even moon the entire team.

Lance helps give the Pacers personality. That's good for the NBA with a Pacers-Heat series looming in May.
