After reading the details of those picks, most of them say the right to swap picks, so they won't lose a pick just have a different one.

I thought you would hate losing Datome.

My biggest fear as a Pacer fan is an average young team getting Pierce and making them a headache in the playoffs.
    Datome is awful.

Right, which means no matter what they do they're in a bad situation. Blow it up? Bummer, your pick goes to Team X FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS. They have to knock every draft pick outta the park. Cap space? Cool, let Billy King go spend a billion dollars. They have absolutely zero assets, Williams has fallen off a cliff, Lopez is unfortunately looking like dead weight. So it's just building around late lotto picks, at best.

And The Russian isn't exactly as patient as Herb Simon. And Billy King sure as hell isn't Larry Bird, in any facet. They're ****ed.

They have to swap picks with an almost certainly better team each year they aren't straight up giving their picks away. The Nets are really kind of ****ed going forward.

I'm pretty hyped about Bird drafting our starting 4 of the future with that 2015 2nd rounder from the Rush trade though. Watch.

Not only is Roy one of the healthiest bigs in the league, he's become even "healthier", playing more minutes further into his career and overcoming his psychological issues.

Too bad on Brook. He had actually become a really strong defensive presence after being mediocre. He was that team's ONLY chance, before and after those disastrous trades.

The hawks are having a charmed season. A strong team and a probable high lottery pick. Best of both worlds.
Yep. Ferry has made some great moves for the Hawks.

Brooklyn really could have turned out to be a factor in the post season. Yes, they looked like a train wreck but so did Miami early on...then bam two championships.

Yeah, but Miami had two of the greatest players in NBA history who were in the prime of their careers, not to mention another all-star in Bosh. Everyone knew that Miami would get it together once they got comfortable with each other. Brooklyn OTOH is relying on two guys who get discounts at buffets in Pierce and Garnett, as well as two other players who will never live up to their contracts in Williams and Johnson.

Brooklyn wasn't going anywhere this season.

That's true. Brook had actually developed into a very good rim protector. He still had rebounding issues but that had a lot to do with Brooklyn's system (he wasn't their designated rebounder on the defensive end and they didn't crash the offensive boards). Excellent offensive player, of course.

Sad to see him get injured

When the Nets assembled this team, I had thoughts that health would be an issue. But I kind of figured that Lopez's issues were behind him after a full season lashyear. Too bad for him.
