Lance, especially, needs to be careful with this. You have to limit the amount of risky passes you throw in Danny's direction. It's an easy way to hurt a knee for a healthy plaer, and Danny shouldn't be put in that situation.

Needless to say, Danny should be smart enough to let the ball sail out of bounds.

So So happy to see Danny on the court tonight. Great win too. Although I wish Lin had played, just because I'm a fan.
Lance is still way too...Lance-y to realize bodies aren't indestructible. Seriously, has he ever missed a game because of injury? Ever?

I really don't either. There asking price for Asik is insane. If they get a young pf they'll be lucky but no team is going to give up 2 picks and a decent pf.
    You are underrating Asik.

Chandler Parsons wanted no part in that defensive assignment. Holy "No Mas", Batman.

Also, that picture of Lance staring into what's left of Dwight Howard's soul is possibly the greatest picture I've seen since Danny looking down on LeBron from 3 years ago.

Why does Hoosier not post when we win? I know someone said it earlier to and its very true. Even as we were beating the Heat, he didn't post a thing until they came back. I don't know, just very odd. Maybe he was busy I don't know - would be nice to see some positivity from him though.

Anywho, I had to work so I couldn't see much of the game. :-\ But welcome back Danny! I didn't think this day would come but I am so glad it did.

I tried to find some draft measurements but couldn't find anything for his hands. Lance must have hands like meathooks with some of the palming stuff he does.

At the same time, Danny isn't papaw. At some point, he's going to be guarding LeBron James. It was a risky pass, but it's kind of like when a QB comes back from injury and takes their first hit. Danny's going to have to test it out eventually.

Domination across the board. Great bounce back. Now we need to win out for the rest of the month.

Asik is big time overrated and his salary is going to be crazy next year, 15mil for a guy with no offense and can't hit free throws? meh.

in the NBA, he sorta is. 9th season with a significant injury behind him, will turn 31 in the course of the season. he doesn't need put out to pasture or anything, but he's no spring chicken.

I figured, which is why Danny also has to let the ball sail out of bounds of Lance get's too Lance-y.

Seriously, I'm not saying this because Danny is fragile. A lot of college coaches are instructing players not to throw certain types of passes because there's a thought that the attempted catch can cause knee injuries (ACL, typically) from landing off balance. (I've seen it a few times, to be honest..). Just saying, with someone who now is prone to knee injuries..

Asik's salary is 8.3 next year. Chicago didn't match so the balloon payment in the 3rd year doesn't exist.

At the same time, he's not Robert Parrish playing at 40. He's a lot like D-West in that his "old man game" should enable at least the possibility of playing another 6 years or so. Granted, that knee is an issue. Big issue. But, if it can stay relatively healthy, he'll age somewhat gracefully as an NBA player.

That's just what I think, anyway.

I saw a lot of reports that teams don't want to give too much for him because he is making 15mil next year, even Bill Simmons talked about that in the beggining of the game, maybe a rule that his salary goes up if he is traded?

No, those reports are wrong. It's the same deal with Lin.

I like James Harden a little more after this:

It's going to be hard to tell a guy to "take it easy". For most basketball players, especially former all-stars like Danny, the only know one way to play one way, hard.

George Hill had a tremendous game, and its perplexing to see how good this cat can be when plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Man I about lost my mind when Danny blocked Howards shot. Fieldhouse was rocking on that play. So glad to see my favorite player get back to competing. He was really making some great passes and moving the ball around, if thats a sign of things to come then this team is gonna be in really good shape going forward, playing smart ball. I don't worry about the 5 TO's. Most of them were just rust. This team, for me, is starting to feel whole again.

For salary cap purposes it's 8.3, but it's 15 million in actual salary. It's been talked about as an impediment to an Asik deal that some owners just don't want to pay the cash even if the salary cap isn't affected. If Chicago had matched then the only change would have been that the salary cap number would have been 15 million along with the cash being that way.

    Simmons is likely mistaken.

That would be a really odd condition in the contract....that would mean that his 2013-2014 salary would then have to be adjusted from $8+ mil to something much lower ( $1 + mil ) and then re-adjust his 2014-2015 salary from $8+ mil to the $15 mil.

Really? A guy who has pretty much become a spot up shooter can't play until he's 37?
