Default Another Danny Granger trade proposal.

Pacers get: Jeff Green and Humphries(expiring)

Houston gets: Danny Granger+ Cope+ Jordan Crawford+ indiana pick.

    Celtics get: Asik+Lin+OJ.

The rumors is that Boston is looking to get Asik by sending Green to Houston can the Pacers get into that deal? Green could be a nice player for the Pacers to have.

Why Houston would do it? well it has been reported that they want an stretch power forward plus a pick for Asik and are looking to stick Lin to any deal.

Why would Boston do it? well they want Asik and it has been reported that they are looking to move Green and Crawford for Asik.

Green is owed quite a bit of money from 2014-16. Couldn't that get in the way of us keeping Stephenson?

Moving Copeland helps next year but yeah I'm not sure how Green's salary could affect Lance, adding Ian to another team could give the Pacers 4 more mil to give to Lance.

I believe Lance is getting a JR Smith type of contract for about 5mil a year for 4 years.

I feel like Green would balk at the idea of coming off the bench wherever he goes. Honestly, I think he's overpaid anyway. I like the general idea of the talent we add, also what pick are you suggesting we give up? the 2016 first?

Green was fine coming off the bench when KG and Pierce were there I don't see that as an issue, I thought he was overpaid when he got the contract but not anymore.

Regarding the pick I don't know, I mean how valuable is for the Pacers to keep a pick and draft the next Solo Hill at 28-31? I think the Pacers are doing it right by trading their pick for a productive player like Scola.

I don't disagree, I'm just not sure what value our 2016 pick has. I'm not completely against the idea behind the trade, but I would have to 100% know that Green would not impact our decision making regarding Lance.

Well on the proposal there is about 3mil to be saved for Lance next year but I'm not sure on the year after that, Lance to me is going to be getting about 5mil a year.

    http://data.shamsports.com/content/p...es/celtics.jsp

According to ShamSports, Green is owed $8,700,000 in 13-14, $9,200,000 in 14-15 and $9,200,000 in 15-16 (player option). We cannot afford such a contract while keeping our core intact. Not even trading Copeland and Ian would give us enough room to sign Lance and then Roy after Green's cap hit.

I like Green as a player a lot and I'm sure that he'd be awesome here (he's in very good terms with Roy) but we cannot afford him.

Hopefully you are right but I'm thinking 10 mil a year.

I think the Pacers are in a tough position. Unless they let Granger go and get rid of another piece (Scola, Mahinmi or Copeland), I don't think they'll have enough money to keep Lance and stay under tax. So any moves that add salary a la this Jeff Green idea seem out of question to me.
