Default Granger Out Friday - Indy Star

    http://www.indystar.com/story/sports...riday/4002327/

Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger said he’s “literally day-to-day” with his return from an injured left calf, but Friday won’t be the day, he said after practicing at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
“I don’t like where I’m at with my timing and my rhythm and obviously my conditioning,” he said. “I don’t think I will (play) Friday.
“I practiced today, a full-on practice, but I don’t feel like I’m ready yet. I dribbled the ball off my foot a couple of times, just things when you haven’t played. (I) lost the ball in transition on a pass. My rhythm isn’t there yet.”
Granger said he’s had no physical setback.
“No, no, no,” he said. “Just all game legs. I’m not going to go on the court until I’m ready.”
Granger hasn’t played since the fifth preseason game Oct. 18. He missed all but five games last year with an injured left knee.
Granger was an NBA All-Star in 2009. The Pacers (19-3) will play Charlotte on Friday.

If me misses the Charlotte game, I wonder if they'll look at the upcoming Miami and Houston games as bad situations to throw him in to. After Houston, the schedule is light for quite a while. So December 22 vs the 10-14 Celtics is my prediction.

This is getting stupid. I'm tired of the "he's coming back soon....nevermind!" game.

EDIT: I take it back, it has been stupid. Now I'm getting pissed.

I want Granger to wait until he is healthy to come back, but I am tired of them dangling him over our heads.

His master plan is to stay as healthy as he can, wait as long as he can, then play as well as he can and pray he doesn't get hurt doing it. Then, he will get a fat contract somewhere. Prolly the Lakers.

But hey, he will no doubt perform well, which is all good for the Pacers.

Makes sense. The last thing we want is a sloppy Danny out there turning the ball over and stuff.

Yes, its taking to long. Wayy to long. But he is complaining about beiing out of game shape. Thats because it did took way to long! So im just positive about this update. Its not his knee and it has been more than a year already, easy to handle a bit more.

This news only makes it more possible that we will have a healthy Granger during the final stage of the mission..

This is why Vogel didn't want him talking to the media like he did.

I can't wait until this soap opera is over and we can enjoy the badazz team we have.

And DG needs to learn how to shut up he is always stiring the pot with his comments.

As much as I like Danny, I agree. Talking to the media and his healing has only made anticipation look worse. It looks bad to say you are hoping to play 3 days in advance and then not play. It gets speculation of a setback to build up, and it is just a media headache the whole organization has to deal with.

Honesty, I didn't think he'd be back until around Christmas. I mean, once the 4th week passed and the team was still playing well, you just got the feeling there'd be no rush. Besides, it's kinda been the Pacers' MO whenever a player was out longer than 30 days to start the season. They typically don't sniff the court again until late-December. So, I'm not terribly surprised Danny's still out or delayed somewhat. Still, I'm as anxious to see him play like every other fan.

Really. It's like, when someone asks "When are you coming back" he should answer "dawgs I'm tired of answering questions about Danny Granger" or tell them "No comment". Giving no response would, of course, never lead to unfounded rumors and speculation.

Personally, I like hearing som, ething, even if it is too optimistic. Think about it - is there any credible reason at this point to think his knee is blown out or his calf is still sore? He's out on the floor every day, we have film of it, we're just looking at a different stage.

You'd think he was in a wheelchair or using a walker.

Man y'all are harsh. He never said he was going to play on Friday, only that it was his goal to play on Friday. The reasons he is giving for sitting out are perfectly justified. He doesn't want to come in and hurt the team with his conditioning and rust. You all act like he is still hurt.

It's annoying, but everyone needs to chill out. We're still a great team without Granger, he just adds a cherry to our chocolate sundae.

I cant believe people actually expected him to play Friday when frank wasnt to pleased about danny's comments.

danny will be held out untill he is 101% percent ready to go.
Counting down the days untill DJ Augustin's contract expires.
