It's interesting to realize that we wouldn't swap a single rotational player for their equivalent on the Knicks.

    Prigioni for Hill?
    Shumpert for Lance?
    Melo for George?
    Martin for West?
    Bargnani for Hibbert?

If we didn't have Granger, I could see us picking up Shump as a backup wing behind Paul George and Lance Stephenson. But as it stands, there's not a player on their team I'd want, even apart from cost considerations.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I really hope they make the playoffs as a low seed so that we can sweep them in the first round.

Please don't tempt fate given the last time the Pacers had an amazing season and ended up in the first round against the Knicks...

Only player I would like to have is Chandler. That would scare the Heat having him come off the bench . (I know not realistic at all)

I'd rather see them just miss the playoffs and have the miracle ping pong ball give them the #1 pick in the lottery so they can give it away to Denver. That would be awesome.

98-99. Lockout season where Pacers dominated the regular season, came into the playoffs thinking they should have the trophy handed to them and instead had their heads handed to them in the first round by the Knicks.

    That was the Conference Finals.

Yeah, the Pacers breezed through the first two rounds, sweeping Milwaukee and Philly. The Knicks beat Miami in the first round on that epic Allan Houston shot, then took care of Atlanta. Then the two teams met in the ECF's.

    I'd rather have Chris Smith.

Yeah this is turning into a dump on JR Smith/the Knicks thread.
    As every thread should!

I hate that Myth he really is not. He is so undisciplined and bad fundamentals(off the ball he is awful). He has defensive potential, but in no way is he "a great defender".

I doubt we are a match for a Shumpert trade regardless.
I agree, but I think with Vogel as a coach and Shumpert's potential might make him into a very good defender.

Anyway, he's the only player from that team I'd even consider, but if the Knicks do blow it all up, I'd be willing to bet they'd keep him.

It's really amazing to see what getting Carmelo did to that team....and there has just been repeated mistakes ever sense.

Probably because anything short of a championship that season might as well have been.
