We now have a player who is capable of taking over the game at a true superstar-ish level. Those jumpers PG was hitting at the end of this half were absolutely nasty. Only a few players in the league (King, Durant, Mamba) can do that.

West was absolutely phenomenal on both ends of the court in that half.

    Glad Roy got going offensively.

Scola's game really is a thing of beauty. God what a great acquisition.

Mahinmi is a complete stiff. I knew his solid early season play had to be too good to be true.

George, West, Hibbert, and Scola combine for 15 for 21 from the field

When PG learns to play like this consistently there's no reason he can't be on the same tier as Durant and Kobe.

Good end! Guys I know you're tired of me talking about Cope but should we put him on Bonner when he's out? Both play D for **** but they should cancel each other out
Yea, you're right. We ARE tired of you talking about Copeland.

It's really not that hard. All Bonner can do is shoot. Anybody can guard him knowing he is a catch and release shooter. We just need someone dedicated and focused to do so.

Flawless offensive performance last 6 mins of that quarter. Gotta limit their second chance points, drive me nuts...4 more of them there at the end of the half or our lead could be close to double figures

I laughed. But Cope is the same way! Why not have him defend Bonner and if he gets buckets we match em?

We need consistency out of Mahinmi. I don't care if that is 4 points and 4 rebounds a game with good defense. As long as good defense ends up being part of the package. Maybe even an occassional put back dunk.

Really, with our bench now, all we require out of Mahinmi is good defense, blocking out and an occasional screen. That's what he should be concentrating on, but he needs to deliver each game.

I think we're lucky to be here. Need to rotate better against the Spurs main unit to contain the pick and roll. Making lots and lots of shots sure helps.

Ian is not good against the Spurs. If the Pacers are fortunate enough to play the Spurs in the Finals, he'd get limited minutes only for foul trouble, can use the Scola/West frontcourt.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

    Loved PG in that quarter!

Mid rangers, coming off screens, taking it to the hole...
He was like: "I am the man! Give me the rock!"

A few plays like that and wow does stuff open up.

We quit looking scared and started playing ball. Nice!
    Keep it up guys.

Please stop giving away offensive rebounds. It's so frustrating watching them winning one after the other. Do that and we will have a good chance winning this game.

PG has stepped up and taken over. When I see him driving to the basket, it's a relief and I always hope he will never stop doing it. Look what a difference makes in his FTs he earns.

I don't think we need Copeland to attempt to match Bonner. I haven't looked it up, but I'd guess Bonner is a bit more proficient that Copeland. So, I'd just as soon simply have someone on the floor willing to guard Bonner, while also probably being a bit more useful on our offensive end.

That was a very good 2nd quarter. My only complaint for the first half is that we have allowed them to grab offensive boards. Other than that, good half.

I find that people tend to determine Mahinmi's contributions based on how well the bench scores rather than Ian's actual performance. His play is quite consistent. However, when CJ, Lance, and OJ shoot 0-7 while he's in, he is perceived to have struggled.

    chuckle chuckle. Sad but true.

    But you never know.
Sometime a little advice by a sage coach can make a - a +. Ian has some skills and a nice NBA body. He's going to come in handy for us yet.
    Maybe even still tonight.
It a lot easier to be positive this year isn't it!

Just a guess on my part, but could it be that you aren't in tune with the number one objective of every player on our roster. DEFENSE.

To get consistent minutes you absolutely MUST play defense. So please, don't ever start a post with "I can give a **** how he plays defense...."
