Default on-field laser-generated first down "line" proposed, using available technology

Amron, an inventor and founder of First Down Laser Systems, told USA TODAY Sports on Monday that he has met with NFL executives several times, including May 14 at the league office in New York, and recently completed the system they've wanted.

"Everybody knows about us, but until something like this happens, they don't realize how important having the (first-down) line on the field just like you see on TV is to the game," said Amron, 65, a New York native and professed Giants fan.

"This is the first year the NFL is considering fan experience number one. What better for fan experience than having the line they're used to at home in the stadium, where they're paying $200 a seat?"

I've always wondered about this. I think the next step is to put some type of micro-chip in the nose of the ball where it can be detected if it broke the plane or not.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right. ― Ricky Gervais.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

Been sayin this to my family for years. They could do some kool stuff with this. Scanner technology and some sort of indicator on the ball itself, like some invisible coating that gets picked up by scanner, and could even put a light indicator on top of the 1st down marker stick and the goal line that illuminates when the ball crosses the line, like in hockey. I mean, how cool would that be for the fans rooting for a big first down and see that light go off.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

The next question will be if the Jets can someday develop the technology to implant a micro chip in a player's head so that they can create a quarterback with NFL quality skills.

It's surprising they don't already have something like this.

Jets... create a quarterback with NFL quality skills.
    or a wide receiver
or a coach, or a talent evaluater, for that matter

I just wish they could get instant replay right.
You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

I don't see why they'd need it, other than fans in the stadium, which'd be a big reason I guess. Players know where the first down is, it's honestly pretty crazy how well they know when they're fighting for the 43rd yard line while they're 25 yards away from a marker and getting beat about the head.

I actually don't like the idea. Players should know where they need to be for a first down, and when they aren't its a mistake.

Also what if Ray Lewis comes back and does this?
