Don't get me wrong because I love Roy and what he's doing this year but in my opinion there is no way he gets a raise without more production on offense on a consistent level.

IMO this team would win more games without PG then without Hibbert.

Horford will be a 30 yr old unrestricted free agent in 2016.

I don't know if BMF can beast that long but If so I don't see why Al would mind sliding in beside a prime Hibbert, George and Lance, and Hill?!
If not him then someone pretty good will answer that call.
Of course by then well be a dynasty. haha.

This is about a year and a half premature. Let's talk about this after getting fitted for our second ring sometime in 2015.

Last thing on my mind right now. I'm just going to enjoy him while he's still playing.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if West continues his level of play beyond his current contract. Players with his size, body type, and game generally can maintain a high level of play longer than most.

Agreed. He can play an old man game for a few more years.

Easily the best free agent signing in Pacer history.

Obviously is not on the roster.

And I sure as hell hope the front office doesn't take any suggestions for eventual replacements from guys mentioned in this thread. We're contenders right now obviously, Roy's in his prime years, Hill is, PG's just beginning to hit the cusp of his prime and will keep ascending, Lance (is going to stay and) keep getting better. In 2-3 years we aren't going to need a David West to come in and set the locker room straight and help institute a culture, it'll still be there. All those guys'll be here, Frank'll be here, Bird, Pritchard, and Dinwiddie'll hopefully all still be here (probably not with Dinwiddie).

We're not going anywhere any time soon. We're no dynasty or anything, nowhere close, we're aren't about to 3peat or something, but this is just the beginning of the greatest stretch in Pacers NBA history. Sure, replacing West is a concern eventually, but not for a long while, it's so far out it's seriously not worth thinking about, guys we've never heard of, current high school sophomores will be in the conversation.

There's only one flaw in that thinking. Assuming that Roy, Paul, Lance and Hill are still here, we will not have the cap space to go out and acquire one of the best PFs in the game. More than likely, our PF will be someone that we have drafted and grown or maybe a specialist or prospect that we acquire through a trade. Only if we are very lucky will we get an older established veteran ring-chaser with skills to sign with us at a reduced rate.

I agree with Heisenberg. It is almost impossible to predict who the replacement will be. He's probably a player that's not even on our radar yet.

I don't even think our PF radar is even turned on yet. It would be a waste of time and electricity.

At the earliest, we start sniffing around next summer looking for prospects. But West will still be a very good player all of next season. His game is one of length, strength and fundamentals...not speed and hops. His game will age quite well, as will Roy Hibbert's.

As for PG, we are set for a long time. I think our C position is locked too. We may need to look at the wing a little to add depth...but OJ isn't bad and might turn into a solid backup. Solomon Hill is a worker and might better his game too. We are in really good shape guys.

    My wish list....Lamarcus Aldridge
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

Keep dreaming unless you want to part with Paul George.

Jason Thompson is someone that I think would fit into our team setting very well... I havent watched him to much, but the few times that I have I have been impressed...
