Question Michael Carter-Williams = Rookie of the Year?

He dropped 29 points on the NBA's best defense. He's head and shoulders above most his counterparts. Can we hand him the ROY trophy now?

    He's easily the front-runner.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

He seems to be the read deal. I was very impressed.

There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."

I was really impressed. He was getting some tough buckets last night on length and athleticism alone, really. Seems to have a real bulldog mentality, and I'm blown away by how effective he already is at swiping the ball.

Not only is he the front-runner, there's no other legitimate candidate.

Easily by far the best rookie..... He reminds me of Paul George in his ability to play both sides of the ball. Dude has some talent.

There's no doubt he's ROY right now. Kid is downright scary matchup at the PG spot.

No, he does not remind you of Paul George. Dude is a good offensive game, but he is a screen door on defense. He has a long way to go before he is able to defend anyone. The MCW/Evan Turner pairing may be the worst defense pair in the league. The only chance Philly has is to try to outscore people.

    Too early.

That rookie wall will come sooner for him since he's playing a ton of minutes. Definitely the front runner though.
Lance + Starting SG = Awesome

    Now really free Lance!

Its kind of amusing...I love Syracuse and I never thought he'd be able to do this in the NBA. He never looked THIS good!

He is obviously the ROY so far. He is very savvy for a rookie.

He's made the Sixers look like geniuses for trading Holiday. They didn't really lose anything, at least offensively, from the point guard position, and they get Nerlens Noel next year. Sixers really nailed the rebuilding process if they can get a good wing in the draft this year.

Plus when they throw a 4 year, $40 million contract at Lance Stephenson this summer as well.

only to get outbid by another team. Some team is going to make Lance an offer he can't refuse. Watching him break out is bitter sweet right now hopinh somehow it stays sweet for the future, but with how he has played I don't see a way he remains affordable to our budget.

On the topic at hand. MCW has played a lot better than I though he would. I always said he was a lottery talent just based on talent, but I also was pretty clear I would probably pass on the kid.

With his ability to play defense and the steals and deflections he gets at 23 yrs. old, yeah, probably.

Tyreke Evans 11 million a year. Over the next 4 years. I know I'd rather have Lance.

Plus how he's a great X factor on a team with other weapons. He's proven he's a triple-double threat waiting to happen, and when he goes through one of his bursts where he's getting to the rim and finishing or getting fouled, especially off of a defensive rebound full court, that's devastating to the opponent; particularly if he gets into that mode late in the game. He's cooling down (as expected) from 3, but we all know he can nail them.

Stephenson is not going to get 10+ from another team. He's a huge risk because of his past, and that risk goes up if he leaves Indiana. Teams will go after Gordon Hayward and Eric Bledsoe before they go after Stephenson.

Stephenson, max, will get 8 million per year. Same deal that Monta Ellis and Jeff Teague got.

He is equal leading the league in steals. I know thats not the same as playing solid defense but I thought he was at least average positionally against the Pacers. With his quickness and length, add a bit more experience and he could be the best defensive PG in the league.

I didn't see any real defense vs the Pacers. When the Sixers wanted to put defensive pressure on, they usually sub'ed Brown in.

You could be right,he could morf into a defender, but I didn't see much of it last night. His PER against isn't very good.
