True. Also true: Roy Hibbert shoots the three better than 99.999% of the planet.
But since this *IS* a forum to talk about pro basketball, and since one of the top players in the game just suffered a season- and maybe career-ending injury, it's not a bad thing to commiserate with the dude. Hate on the 1% later.

Will he be set financially? Sure.
But I never got the impression Rose only played the game for the money. I'm not talking about the commercial either.
I'm not saying he needs to be put on suicide watch, but for a lot of NBA players this is their life. You put 21 years of your life into something only to have your dream cut short.
Again, financially he will be fine. Life throws everyone curve balls, it happens and I get that. To me, to brush it under the rug as "He is a millionaire, he'll be fine."(paraphrasing) just irritates me.
I'm not even a Derrick Rose fan, but I can't imagine what he is going through right now.
EDIT: I agree with what you're saying. There are most definitely a lot more important things happening in the world, thats obvious. Minimalizing his situation just irks me, thats all.

The NBA is always more interesting when there are a lot of great players and they are healthy. Hope he can come back.
I don't like to see anyone get hurt, even a Chicago Bull.
Wade is the only guy in the league I won't give 2 sh*ts about, only because he has tried to hurt other players through out his career.
There is no * IMO the Bull's where not championship contenders anyway.

"Just look at the flowers ........ BANG"
I would rather the pacers lose against Rose than win against the Bulls without him. They will always be able to point to that last game. No I am not at all happy about this.
This sucks. It really, really sucks. No other way to put it. I don't particularly like Rose and I absolutely don't like the Bulls, but man this is a shame for basketball in general if it is indeed an ACL tear.

If the Pacers play and beat the Bulls anymore this season, it will be done with the Bulls at full strength. If Rose is out, hurt and can't perform, then he won't be part of the functional team.
The Bulls will be full strength with who they have left.
Otherwise, it would be like calling them not at full strength because MJ is not with the team anymore.
Unfortunately, its the nature of the game.*

Wow some of you are a bit over the top in your reactions to this. I think each polar extreme has been accounted for, good ol pacersdigest
I hope it's nothing, but I'm kinda pissed at the Bulls head coach. He should have been monitoring Rose's minutes better instead of giving him 30min/gm. Thibbs rides his starters way too hard.
The entire draft. Love the picks of Turner, Young and trading for Christmas.
Signing Glen Robinson III
Trading for Budinger
Signing Monta Ellis
Signing Jordan Hill (not for the player, but for his deal)
Re-signing Stuckey and Allen
Not surprising the way he plays and moves, been saying this for years. Never been a big fan of the stuff he says, either. Don't like to see injuries, but the NBA will move on.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.
In retrospect, Rose's decision not to come back for the playoffs was probably a good one. He wasn't ready.

I hate to say it but when I see an athlete just collapse with no contact, I assume the worst.
I'm no fun of Mumbles Rose since he plays for the Bulls, but I'd be lying if I didn't love watching him beat up random WC teams in games that have little meaning for the Pacers. Before the knee injury he was fun to watch.
I feel bad for D Rose as he is a fierce competitor and really loves the game. Life just isn't fair sometimes.
