It's more than just a culture thing. Afaic, pizza tastes better cold in the morning only. There's some kind of physiological thing involved. Diet Coke in the morning also tastes better to me and my wife. It is what it is. I do not like cold pizza at night unless it's a midnight snack.

I drink Diet quite a bit, but nothing beats regular Coke with pizza. If I'm eating pizza give me the regular Coke.

I love "cold" pizza in the morning. Which is worse, leftover pizza or my fried eggs (2-3) and fried sausage patties for breakfast, I mean they're both gonna kill ya. OK mybe this is "wrong" but pizza left in the box and on the kitchen table with the two liter from the night before....now that's eating. (Coke Zero)

And now you know why I'm diabetic and 65 lbs. overweight.

I like to think that running 5 miles a day allows me a couple pizzas a week

I stopped eating Papa John's after trying their Sausage Sensation pizza a few years ago. It was flavorless. I haven't gone back since.

A nice cold beer with pizza is the best.

Right behind it is cold pizza for breakfast. I have not done that since my bachelor days, but was always the best breakfast.

Yes, that's the one I'm talking about. It only comes in Medium. There is no charge for the extra sauce.
Finally tried the Dominos pan. Not bad overall. Reminds me a little of Marcos except I give the edge to Marcos in all categories. Little better crust, better sauce, more cheese, bigger toppings. Thanks for the recommend as I found Dominos pan good value for the money, but if you like that pie, you have to try Marcos.

Yeah, Marcos is excellent. I haven't had it in a while and need to get it soon. Glad you liked the Dominos pan. From a bang for your buck perspective, it's pretty damn solid. I think that it's the best pizza that you can get from any of the Big 3.

Is there a great place in Indy do get actual Chicago Style Pizza, like when they have the sauce on top of the cheese and toppings?

South of Chicago on Virginia avenue close to Fountain Square. Their owner is from Chicago. Their pie is pretty good, and the crust bakes up almost like a wide and flat bowl that holds all the topping and sauce in. They also have Italian beef. Pretty good stuff, a group of us from work will hit it up for lunch every few months.

Hmm...apparently he opened another on 131st St. In Fishers.

The best I have had on the northside is Nancy's But then I am not a huge fan of that style so I have it rarely.

Thanks for heads up. Is that the real thick Chicago style with the tomato sauce on top?

Two months ago I was in Chicago and had Giordano's and it was excellent, really good. Immediately moves into one of my top three places in Indy. And I had their thin pizza and garlic cheese bread and a salad - everything was excellent.

Have no idea if it is the best or one of the best in Chicago but I guarantee it will be one of the very best in our area.

You went to Giordano's and got the thin crust?

Yes I did and didn't regret it, it was really good. Wasn't in the mood for their Chicago style, which isn't my favorite style of pizza to begin with. The sauce they use for their thin crust is different. less chunky and more spices, it was really good

just had monical's pizza for the first time, was not a fan at all. It's definately better than little ceasars (i have to force myself to eat lc's) but i would choose any other chain over this, there was something in the sauce that had a very strong and unpleasant aftertaste and the pepperoni didn't have any taste. For this style of super thin small slice pizza maurizio's and ballyhoo are just flat out better.

with that said i tried to give it a chance and was still edible.

I also had Marcos for the first time recently, one opened up near my house...... that is delicious pizza.

Bump. Let me just bump this. Can't get too many pizza recommendations. Also, IMO EVERYBODY out-pizzas the Hut. How in the heck is it the number one Pizza joint in America? Mediocre at best and inconsistent too.

It's been awhile now, but Brozinni Pizzeria in Greenwood was pretty good. I liked the large NY style slices that you could fold over and have a "sandwich" with.

Greenfield got a Dominos in, and I have tried them a couple of times recently. Not awful for cheap pizza, but the normal pizza is too garlicky. The last time I ordered, I went with the NY style. It felt undertopped and overcooked. Really disappointing...

Aurelio's pizza in Fishers was a little pricey but fantastic. It was a thinner crust (not the crispy kind) and it was very flavorful.

One of my new favorites is Coalition in Carmel. Excellent - the thai BBQ sauce is outstanding.

    Sal's in Brownsburg.

If you want pizza at home, Papa Murphy's is a good choice.
