The only way Danny gets traded is if they think he's completely done for this season, and probably beyond, and Herb/Larry have incriminating evidence against another owner/GM who has an expiring on their roster that would fit in with the Pacers. Outside of that, there's pretty much a 0% chance.

Th least the FO can do is to let Danny get his chance at a ring this year before he walks. I don't think they'll do it purely out of goodwill, but if healthy he's a perfect compliment to the roster and if he's not, then there isn't a reason why another team would trade for him.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.” ― Ricky Gervais.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

You know Danny will be motivated to give it his all as this may be his only opportunity for a ring.

The granger hate becomes tangible and is despicable, the "what have you done for me lately" ánd "don't get in the way of my hero" posts are increasing, I'm ashamed thnking the people involved like Granger may even read something like that.
It makes it damn clear what opinions are though.

The thing is will any team give us a decent deal for a guy with a questionable future in Granger?
Granger wont likely be traded for a prospect / draft pick and a huge expiring ( cuz as u said...no one is going to give up any typr of prospect for Granger ). The only trade that will happen is if he is packaged with Copeland for a very big expiring.....which will be very difficult to do.

I know it's not quite the same thing, but some Bulls fans were like that with D-Rose last year when half the team was playing hurt and he was "not mentally ready". Also, there are probably some bandwagon fans who don't even remember how good Danny was and what he meant to the team during the down years. If Danny can come back and produce, either off the bench (I hope) or as a starter, then he will get plenty of love.

That's why I think Larry should just keep DG for the season because he may in fact give us a huge boost once we hit April

Which is why there is no logical reason to even consider trading him. There is no downside to keeping Granger. There is tons of downside to trading Granger.

And it's a contract year for him... Let alone he's already lost nearly all of last season and pushing 20 games this season so should be itching to play. Motivation shouldn't be a problem.

Danny Granger participates in a portion of pacers scrimmage time today, still "no timeline" from Coach Vogel. Won't play vs Spurs

Danny will make us so good. I'm sure if we weren't already killing it the coaching staff and front office would not be so conservative with a timetable, heck granger believes he could play right now, but if we're getting Danny back at 75 percent or more of what he was coming off the bench for 25 to 30 minutes per night off the bench? My god we will be dominant. He can obviously still shoot and has always had a below the rim game. He and Scola will be getting tons of open looks since we play Lance with that unit alot already. Whatever you think of Danny as long as he can run and shoot he's a radical upgrade over oj and solo. He can be the end of our second quarter problems, he can make us favorites to win the title if he comes back even half of what he was. He deserves the shot too. He gave us great years full of heart even when it seemed like the team had none. He can give us the best bench in the league. Danny is going to prove alot of doubters wrong. An elite 3 point shooter and good scorer that can defend and play multiple positions is exactly what we need, and exactly what Danny is.

    Hmm. HMMMMMM.

IF we consider "scrimmage" as real practice, and IF nothing seems to be happening bad (like soreness)...

... what would be the likelihood of at least a token appearance for the Heat game Tuesday?

From the new article already cited above:

"(The Pacers' trainers are) kinda holding me back and I think they know best. If it was up to me, I'd be playing but like I said, they know best," Granger said. "That's just me talking from my competitive side. I practice today so obviously I'm not far away."
    Sounds promising.

Also from the article http://www.indystar.com/story/sports...tices/3896001/ by Candace:

Granger jumped into five-on-five action. During a transition play, he led a break and tossed an alley-oop to Ian Mahinmi. When the Pacers worked strictly in halfcourt offensive sets, players rotated in and out but for several instances, Granger chased around and defended Paul George. Another time, as Lance Stephenson delivered a pocket pass, Granger flashed across the paint for the ball but misjudged a floater that fell short of the rim.

After the practice, Granger said that he's pain-free but still must build up his game conditioning.

"More so just getting my wind up and my conditioning in my legs," Granger said. "I really wasn't too cautious of (the calf)."

There's no sense in rushing him. The team is playing well, and I'd rather have him at or close to 100% as much as possible to avoid another setback.

If Granger can't contribute, the only way I can also see trading Granger is if there's a big expiring out there with a player who can help us. I'm guessing that's few and far between, and unless that team is tanking for Wiggins or whoever else, why would they give them up to us? We can't really trade another first round pick, and our most movable piecce (that we'd actually consider moving at this time) is maybe Copeland?
