Default Jamaal Tinsley "retires" from the NBA...

    ..more or less.

The Utah Jazz brought in veteran point guard Jamaal Tinsley to provide a little stability with rookie Trey Burke out with an injured finger. At least that was the plan.

Tinsley didn’t provide much of anything — 1.1 points a game on 20 percent shooting, plus 2.9 assists per game. He started five of the Jazz’s eight games, all losses.

Monday night coach Tyron Corbin moved him to the bench, Tuesday they let him go reports Aaron Falk of the Salt Lake Tribune.

In Utah is all just a placeholder until Burke gets healthy, then their star rookie will get the keys to the Jazz offense. For better or worse… well, not sure it can be much worse.

As for Tinsley, not sure he is going to land another job in the league.

he could have been a hell of a player despite his awful defense. great court vision and terrific handles yet, time and again, he routinely chose himself over the team. when facing another teams elite pg and getting burned, i can't remember just how many times he would decide to make it a 1-on-1 game and try to get his revenge and talk trash until a fight or technical foul broke out. and of course his final game in overtime as a pacer will forever be legendary for showing such selfish ballhogging, that even kobe or iverson would blush.
and that is just the stuff he did on public display.
he must have done much, much more to get the treatment he did when the pacers banished him as i have never heard of them doing that to anyone else.
    just fade away tinsley. adios.

Girl who sat in front of me in my sophomore year Etymology class wore a Tinsley jersey every week. I knew, and told her, even back then, that she had made a poor choice in jersey investment.

Good for Tinsley. I hope he goes and moves in with Stephen Jackson,
then they can both wait together for Artest to retire too.

For a half-second, I was tempted to go edit the theme song of the Golden Girls over the part where Ron and Stephen ran up into the stands. Thank you for being a friend...

Yep, huge waste of talent, really elite handles and vision. Million dollar skills and a 2 cent brain, not the first guy like that and not the last.
