    Default The Triple-Double Thread

    Roy Hibbert, Nov 22, 2012

    David West, January 11, 2013

    Paul George, April 20, 2013

    Lance Stephenson, November 11, 2013

    George Hill, December 14, 2012**

No highlights. Darn NBA taking away that rebound.

Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I can't imagine there has ever been a starting five where all have recorded a triple double at some point. Or even four?

Hmmm...I can think of one group:

    Pau Gasol
    Steve Nash
    Dwight Howard
    Kobe Bryant

Although I can't remember them playing together as a starting unit last season due to injuries, that Lakers team last year had 4 starters that recorded triple-doubles in their careers.

Good one. But I actually meant as a starting four/five on the same team. Indy did it in one calendar year.

Grady was talking about it this morning. They found 4 games (I think) where he was pretty close. Said he has the points/assists in at least one game, but fell short with 6 rebs.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.” ― Ricky Gervais.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

Hopefully this is the year. You know what would be fun, he comes back and has a triple-double his first game.

Just another example of David Stern over-stepping his power in his last year!

Granger had double-digit assists? Passing to who?

They were actually shots that Troy Murphy stole in the air and put in the basket.

Paul, Roy, and Lance can get a triple double at any time.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.

If we had more movement on plays where he posts up I would almost expect him to get a quadruple double sooner rather than later.

I am willing to bet 100-1 that Roy doesn't ever get a quadruple Double.

and considering there's been all of 4 since they started officially counting blocks and steals in 73/74 100-1 is really generous odds

Ok, I'll put down a dollar on that... I don't imagine it will happen either, but at those, odds.. what the heck...

(I'm guessing there are rules against gambling here, so just to be clear, this is in jest, as I'm sure Major's is also -- after all he really couldn't afford that if a few people took him up with any $$ at all and it actually happened..)

If I'm not mistaken, Tinsley is one of only a handful of players (two?) who has gotten five in all five categories (blocks, points, steals, assists, rebounds).

    he did

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/...111160IND.html

a handful of guys have done it, I know Kirilenko has a couple times, Nic Batum has, Olajuwon did it like 8 times probably.

The website I found had 8 guys listed since 1990. The Admiral, Olajuwen (like 6 times), Derek Coleman, Vlade Divac, Tinsley, Marcus Camby, Nic Batum and Kirileko (thrice).

Yeah I don't gamble. So I won't be collecting. And I will forget when Hibbert retires.
