I just couldn't remember the score of the first one. I vividly remember the second one. Derrick McKey defending MJ on the last play, and MJ complaining about the foul. At the time I screamed how it was an obvious block. But then again, I was a huge homer back then, and thought MJ was evil, and the Pacers were angels. So.

Does anyone remember that game Bulls vs Pacers... the one without Reggie Miller?? Derrick McKey defended MJ on the last play of the game??? MJ was on the wing and ended up taking a jumpshot defended closely by McKey?

I want a video of that last play.

Can they get to 70 wins? Eh, history says probably not. But it would be awesome if 70 games is what they won. But I don't think you ever set that as a goal. You play your best and try to win every game and if it's 70 wins then, hey that sure is cool.

    1. Clinch playoff spot.
    2. Win division.
    3. Best record in East.
    4. Best record in NBA.

If we're fortunate enough to do those four things, or even just the first three, I don't really care about the number of wins. Honestly I think we'll do well (or anyone for that matter) to get to 60. Right now we still have a long ways to go to even get #1 checked off the list. It's a long season and one 7-game win streak to start the season is not even close to enough to start talking like this. Getting Memphis tonight to complete this 5-game-in-7-day stretch 5-0 would be amazing and that's good enough for now.

Well, it's good that the pacers are so close to 70 wins that we can have this discussion.

There's still time for them to challenge philly's 9-73 mark....

hey, one loss begets another loss, and another loss, and by the end of next week we'll have fired Vogel, traded half the team and be 3 pages deep into the "riggin for Wiggins" thread.

    3 pages? More like 30.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right. ― Ricky Gervais.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

Exactly. You don't start counting 70 after 7 games. If we were 6-1, would anyone even suggest 60 wins? I'll worry about 70 wins if and when we get to 50. This thread embarrasses me, and I have very little shame to begin with. I want this thread dead and buried.

Nothing wrong with hoping for 70 wins. As everyone else has said I just want home court. I don't think we have a instant offense type of guy off the bench that we would need to get 70 wins. I do think we are built for the playoffs and are on our way to the finals.
Good is the enemy of Great

We're changing the identity of our basketball team -- dramatically. We're a power post team -- a blood-and-guts, old-school, smash-mouth team that plays with size, strength, speed and athleticism. We attack the basket. . . . This is the new identity of our team. It was a great effort. I'm very proud of our guys."

Better than any Bird-McHale-Parrish team, any Kareem-Worthy-Magic team, Philly's fo-fo-fo team, any Celtics 60s team, any of Wilts teams including the '72 Wilt-West-Goodrich team that won 33 straight or the 66-67 Wilt-Hal Greer-Chet Walker- Billy Cunningham team with 4 20 ppg scorers?

people seriously contemplating this question lack an appreciation for the history of our league

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)
