And that's what makes him so good! He can guard Harden, Melo, Rose, Lebron. And PG showed last year that he can play in big moments so we don't even have to worry about that. Usually is the other way around
Eh... I'm not sure anybody can guard Lebron. His combination of being big and fast is too much. Paul George has the athleticism to guard him but he gives up the size. Lebron can push through him and if you put someone big enough to match up with his size, he can go around them or can easily get wide open because they're too slow. But yeah... other than that, I agree. I hate to admit that but Lebron's numbers were good against us in the playoffs. 29.0pts 7.3rebs 5.3asts 1.4blks 1.4stls on 51.0%fg and 44.1%3pt. He even attempted 5 three's per game in the series and shot that high. I'm not sure I'd say he can guard Lebron looking at those numbers. Then again, nobody can. I agree he can guard pretty much everyone else at SF, SG and PG.

I think Prime Jordan could take prime Lebron. I don't try to hate on Lebron any more than he deserves, but I think that big frame of his will wear out faster than a lot of superstars. He's putting incredible impact on his joints, I see him battling injuries in the twilight of his career. I also theorize that Lebron took roids or some other substance when he was a younger player, but that is neither here nor there. No proof, just my gut feeling. Its conceivable that PG could overtake him at some point, but who knows what the superstar situation of the league will be like years down the road. As long as Paul gets as many or more rings than him I'll be content.

You claimed there were people who didn't want to acquire Scola and Watson. I still have seen nothing that proves that, but no I'm not going to let you ruin another thread with your incessant approval seeking.

Top 5 hands down right now. I would say that when this season is done he could be top 3. He has to do this consistently and in the playoffs.

You're right... Harden plays no defense whatsoever. And if he doesn't improve in that facet, he falls way down the list as a player. I don't care what he does offensively and if he pads the stat sheet if he's a big part of allowing 137 points in regulation.

I actually laughed out loud at that video, hahaha! I have never actually paid attention to how horrible he is on defense. LOL I'm still laughing, that's awesome.

James Harden would have a tough time here. It's one thing all of us agree on is defense, which means Indiana fans would lose their **** watching Harden do the opposite of defense...

    Read it and weep:

When George Hill is above 15% usage we won 73.5% of games. Below 15% usage we won 61.9%

Harden is a really lazy player, he quits on plays, doesn't hustle, all he likes to do is get the ball and do whatever he wants on offense.

Based on a snapshot *right* now, the only player I can put above PG without question is LeBron. I don't think PG will ever over-take a healthy, prime LeBron.

But there's no one else out there right now with a better overall complete skillset/package than PG except LeBron. Durant is a better scorer, but I don't think he's on par on defense, rebounding, or passing. CP3 is a tremendous offensive player, but there's no way he even comes close to having the defensive impact or rebounding impact that PG does.
    He won't.

But by the time PG hits his prome, LBJ will be out of his.

I know Lebron's a great player, one of the most efficient ever. But I actually prefer watching PG's game.

Wow. That was awful. I had no idea he was that lazy on defense.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

PG is a beast but some of you guys need to slow down...he isn't better than CP3 and certainly not Kevin Durant...(yet!)

Keep in mind it's been FIVE games. Let's not jump the gun here.

Nah. This run extends back to last year, so it's more like 27 games. (22 playoff games) He's shooting the ball a few more times per game, and shooting 44% on threes to make up the difference in points.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

Harden comes off as arrogant and a bit of a blowhard. Paul George is humble, that's why its easy to root for him

This is shocking. I've never seen it all back-to-back like this. He's horrendous.

I think side by side comparisons of PG and Lebron are pretty damn staggeringly close in resemblance as far as skillsets, natural talent and feel for the game, the passion and drive to achieve being the best they can possibly be as a complete basketball player...

OBVIOUSLY , Lebron is a good handful of years ahead of Paul George in not only his development as a player, but accolades, accomplishments, endorsements, worldwide superstar recognition and etc..

IF PG keeps his hunger to be the best he can be, (and I have absolutely ZERO doubt he will), I see absolutely no reason why he couldnt have a Lebron type of career , providing he stays blessed with good health.....

We really lucked out when Paul George dropped to us ...

About 3 picks ahead of before we picked , I said to myself that I have this funny feeling that we will draft PG and he will be as good as Danny for us ...

Never in a million years did I think the basketball gods would gift the Indiana Pacers and fans with what amounts to a once-in-a-decade type player who is so complete in all attributes both skillwise and athletically ..

I remember also saying to myself back before the draft, that I liked George... and how it seems to me like 90% of the good draft prospects who happen to have two first names as both their first and last name ...

It's kinda crazy when you think about it ... all the all star caliber players who have 2 first names...

I was trying to find a list somewhere, but didnt have any luck, so I figured we could kind of compile one with players we can remember...

Let's see... all I could think of at the moment who were/are either pretty darn good players with good long careers or of all star caliber or better ...

    Michael Jordan
    *Kobe Bryant
    Dwight Howard
    Chris Paul
    Vince Carter
    Eric Gordon
    Ben Gordon
    Rick Barry
    Ray Allen
*Carmelo Anthony (even though Carmello isn't a "common" first name, same with Kobe and etc. names denoted with asterisk)
    Dave Bing
    *Kyrie Irving
    Jarret Jack
    David Lee

I am sure there are a whole slew of others.... but my point being , is if you draft a player in first round/lottery who is projected to be pretty good and he has 2 first names, odds seem to be in favor more times than not of him being pretty good lol..

**Note** this is all conjecture all in fun with no evidence to back up assertion of above, just figured it would be something fun to discuss as far as the 2 first name deal in correlation to how many are/were elite or close to all star caliber.. and if it seems to hold true the majority of the time..

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

That's an interesting defensive strategy, helping off the three point specialist...

Did anyone else see our 6'10" small forward take their all-star MVP point guard off the dribble in the 4th quarter and drive the lane hard? He flat out beat Rose to the basket badly.
