I know that it's early, but I just have a hard time believing that this Bulls team can be as good as it was in 10-11 and 11-12. It just seems like this particular team has already peaked. Of course, a huge reason for that is that Rose is nowhere near the player he was back then for obvious reasons. They played pretty hard tonight, but we were just too much for them. Granted, it could be a far different ballgame when we play them in Chicago on November 16, but I like our chances in a series against them.
I think a big part of it is the fact that D.Rose isn't really a PG. He used to pass the ball so much more, but now they're pretty much an ISO team, that runs occasional good sets. When they were great they were one of the best passing teams in the league, especially on the interior.

I think Rose is healthy, but he's not used to NOT getting bail out calls. His coach already went to the press's saying Rose doesn't get to the FT line much because he's a "nice guy". You take away those FTA, and combine it with the lack of ball movement, and outside shooters and you have an offensively flawed team.

You trade D.Rose for a healthy Rondo and another consistent shooter, and that team's offense is a lot better. At least IMO

The defensive player of the year award is Roy's to lose. So far he's put the effort that Gasol put in last year to shame. Downright DOMINANT

It's kind of sad watching Rose right now. The explosion and confidence just aren't there.

I think it's hilarious that Donald Sloan is getting hate from Bulls fans on Twitter. If you let a 3rd string PG ball on you to the point where morons are tweeting hate at him, you probably do not have a very good team.

Sloan and Watson were both great pickups for backup PG. I am shocked Sloan hadn't caught on somewhere before this. He really looks like he belongs on the court against the big boys.

Well not everybody can be as super human as Westbrook, that guy lost a lot of time and came back like nothing happened.

Eh, Russ only missed what, 10 games that mattered? It's a bit different than Rose.

I wasn't thrilled with the 2nd quarter of course, but this game was a big improvement for the bench. In previous seasons, our bench felt like some guys just thrown together to fill out a bench. Now these guys feel like Pacers players. They fit the system and are able to match intensity. I'm just waiting for them all to have a good game at once. Against Detroit, Scola didn't play well but Solo did. Tonight Scola played great but the wings didn't play very well. One time, we'll see Watson/Sloan, OJ, Hill, and Scola all have a big game at once and it will be beautiful.

He was rehabbing for few months and was not able to start the season because the knee was worse than they thought, sure he didn't have the same issue as Drose but still the guy had surgery.

Beating the two teams that drive most Pacers fans bonkers, Detroit and Chicago in back to back games. This team is really deep. Scola and Watson/Sloan is a huge improvement from lastt year. Pacers probably lose this game with out those three. Last year was a huge drop off on offense when the starters sat.
Scola, Watson and Sloan combined for 32 of our 97 points. We are [u]definitely/u] losing this game without them. They were huge.

He's a freak though. Until last postseason, he had never missed a game due to injury...ever. He's had sprained ankles and other mild injuries, but he's always healed quickly enough to be ready for his next game.

The crowd sounded great on TV..I wish I could've been there. I saw Sandman on the re-broadcast.

I loved watching Scola hustle back after that play. It's great watching him play. It's like he flips a switch in the 4th quarter.

A meniscus tear is a lot less severe than an ACL tear. However, it's absolutely true that Westbrook is a superhuman.

The knee wasn't worse than they thought per se. The problem was that the doctor made a mistake which made the stitch loose so he had to get a second operation to remove the stitch and repair any damage done by it.

As someone who was in the upper upper deck surrounded by Bulls fans, Pacers fans really showed up in terms of volume. When we took the double digit lead in the 4th, it sounded like a playoff game. Best regular season crowd in a while.

I see glimpses. I think he will be a lot closer to the Rose of old a few months down the road.

He basically sat out the same offseason as everyone else. Yeah he had surgery but there are a lot of ways to stay in shape and he clearly did.

Plus a meniscus isn't an ACL. I know Russ is a freak, but injury severity matters, as we will probably see with Kobe whenever he comes back.

    Also, replays...
Me and my roommate were watching the game and couldn't get over the fact that the replays were to determine if the foul on Hinrich was a personal or flagrant. If you have to look at replay, then it was not flagrant! Complete stupidity that breaks the flow of the game. I hope Adam Silver is smart enough to realize that "getting the call right" hurts more than it helps.

I'm talking about him not having rust like a bunch of other players that had some kind of surgery or were not able to practice or play during the off season or pre season.

A lot of it was Roy but we have to give credit to West and Scola as well. Tristan Thompson had two awesome games before playing us and he didn't play well against us. Monroe had some huge numbers before playing us as well and West matched him pretty well.

The new player tracking cameras are going to be a huge boost to Roy, too. He was doing the same thing last year as this year as a help defender, the only difference being that he's getting more blocks than no-calls this year. The writers assumed it couldn't be Roy doing all that work because of how slow he is. But if somebody actually makes it to the paint against us, Roy is there with his arms in the air. Opponents are scoring just over 30% at the rim over him.

Just saw on the Bulls realgm board that we scored on 15 straight possessions in the 4th quarter. Is that true. I took a quick look at the play by play and it looks like it might be legit.
