trust me there are plenty on other NBA boards.

they've been pretty quiet since the season started.
Was there any PG "hate" over the summer? Not that I saw.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

dunno if you would call it hate... but plenty of people couldn't stop saying how overrated he was.

No. And there never has been. There have been people that had differing opinions on him, but no hate. But apparently this need to stake out camps on the I think this of Player A so I apparently HATE Player B stuff is the new norm, especially when Danny's involved.

With J-Smoove and Jennings hoisting up crazy 3's they'll never gel.

Yeh, Paul got trashed pretty hard on some general NBA boards as soon as the max salary stuff came out. Thankfully, Paul has rarely ever gotten trashed on this board, one of few Pacers that has mostly been spared the non sense.

Most of the negative things outside people said, you could tell they hadn't really seen him play very often and didn't know what the heck they were talking about. Still made me mad, lot's of idiot Bulls fans trashing Paul, mostly because I think they are really scared to death of Paul and the Pacers.

I do love this board. I feel we are extremely fortunate to have a strong, pretty close community here.

I am a member of a 49ers board(I'm a 49er fan) and it is horrible. No one respects each other(we deal with that here from time to time, but no more than any other forum), and for the most part we get along. The 49er board is full of homers with very few rational people. I rarely post there, just use it for news mostly.

I also post on RealGM to discuss other teams and players around the league. It doesn't really happen here all to much as we are clearly more worried about the Pacers.

That went exactly how I expected. We looked good some moments, and looked terrible the next. We couldn't control the flow of momentum when Paul George decided to step on our throats and we got our asses kicked in the 2nd half.

Given that Indiana is a better team to begin with and they have an established go to star in Paul George, it doesn't surprise me that our bad moments far outlasted our good ones.

We played hard, for the most part, but playing a legit contender in Indiana this early with guys that hadn't seen the floor all season was a recepie for disaster.

Hopefully, we learn from this and make the appropriate adjustments.

As for the shooting, I'm not going to be hard on Jennings for his first full game of action in over a month. He was all over the place, but he should be.

Our best shooter is probably Luigi, but given that he also played his first game this season tonight, he missed everything.

We have better shooting on this team than it showed tonight. And I'm sick of josh smith getting the ball 30 feet from the basket with 5 on the shot clock. Enough.

They still shot 37.9% so I guess that we're ok.

PG's trade value has never been higher
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

It was quoted in a recent thread, actually. There were several people who were disappointed with him and a small portion overreacted and got too hard on him. Other people tried to rationalize that even if he never becomes a 20 PPG they'd still take what he offers because he is an all-around player (I agreed with that notion as well). Others said that it was only 1 game. Others tried to attribute it to youth. There was a big discussion about it but Paul gave us the perfect answer when he scored 34 points against the Bulls in the very next game.

Considering how little he is and how much the refs were letting him get away with tonight, Will Bynum sure does a lot of talking. He was jawing at everybody he looked at.

It was scary seeing that 17 point lead vanish in 2 minutes, but glad they finally started taking the game seriously. I didn't really understand it, the game felt closer than the double digit lead it was most of the second half. For the one team that actually outsizes us, they are FAST. If they can trade one of their guards for a backup forward they're going to get a lot better.

If someone thought that, one, it wouldn't have been an unreasonable projection through his first year and a half or so, and two, that's not hating. It's Paul George outperforming expectations. This is what I'm talking about, a guy turning out better than Poster X (me) thought he would doesn't mean the previous projections that he's far surpassed are hating on him.

I've seen a handful of Lance haters because of his off court stuff. I've seen a few Hibbert ones because he doesn't score "enough" and gets paid a lot. I've literally never, ever, encountered someone with an agenda I'd call being a PG hater. People have really got to stop this notion that you either love a player or hate him and there's no grey.

    CJ Watson...what a great pickup!

Very nice seeing us get a win with Donald Sloan in for 18 minutes too.

I see this as a very good sign.
