    Default NFL Draft early entrants

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/8114732

    A few names stick out:

    Maurice Clarett
    Adrian McPherson
    Alex Smith
    Mike Williams

With Leinart staying for his final season at USC, that makes Alex Smith the odds on #1 pick. I think Williams will go in the first round. McPherson's draft will depend on how his workouts go. I think teams will avoid Maurice "I-have-ricky-williams-written-all-over-me" Clarett like the plague. Thoughts on the other names on the list?

I think some team out there will pick Clarett in the first round. I pray to God it's not us! The problem is that there is a good supply of Running Backs both coming out and on the FA list.

I like taking a RB inthe First Round and defense in the other rounds. To me 1st round Defense never work out. For every one who has made it, there are a dozen who failed. I have 2 words. Tony Mandrich. Remember him. We drafted him on the first round and he was supposed to be some kind of defensive stud. Never worked out.

Let's draft a RB with out 1st pick (NOT Clarett).

Right now I think Rogers is the favorite for the #1 pick in most people minds, but after the workouts and time the draft comes Smith will be #1

    RB
Carnell Williams, 5-11, 205, Auburn (XLg)
    *Marion Barber, 5-11, 215, Minnesota
    *Maurice Clarett, 6-0, 230, Ohio State (L/E)
*DeAngelo Williams, 5-10, 215, Memphis (Projected to be Indy's pick)

Have Clarett projected as the 4th prospect in Runnings backs. But they also don't have anyone drafting him in the first 2 rounds that I saw.

Didn't Green Bay draft him and the Colts simply resurrect his career for a year or two once he flamed out in GB? ...Or am I thinking of someone else?

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

You're right Bball. Green Bay drafted Mandarich, and he played two seasons with the Colts at the end of his career. I think 'czar is confusing Mandarich with Steve Emtman. To be fair to Steve, injuries prevented anyone from seeing what he might have been capable of. He never played healthy in the NFL.

I wouldn't touch Clarett. He wasn't that impressive when he was actually playing at OSU. He had one good year, and he only played one year. His speed isn't that impressive; his strength isn't that impressive; his ability isn't impressive.

Maybe we should trade up to get Thomas Davis......take tampa or someone who needs a running back......Davis is an aggressive hard hitting line backer or if cadillac is available take him.....personally i would rather take Davis......maybe i am bias because i bleed red and black
