Obviously injuries, trades or other can impact the overall standings from either a very minor way or to a major dramatic shift.

I would prefer a different outcome myself but I just have a sad sad feeling that we are going to start off slow and this will cost us our home court and having a lower seed we will have to face Miami earlier than we would like. I actually think we can get by them which in and of itself is a victory but we will have nothing left for the E.C. finals and we will then be treated to the most miserable of all things and that is a Bulls crowd for the E.C. finals here.

I don't really feel strongly about the Thunder btw, in all honesty I almost had them as an early round upset but for now I'm going to go on the theory that K.D. is going to play out of his mind. I also would have no problem flip flopping the Pistons & the Wizards. However I do think the Wizards are going to be difficult this year.

The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

    I'll do the eastern conference.

    1) Heat - 61
    2) Pacetrs - 58
    3) Bulls - 56
    4) Nets - 55
    5) Knicks - 52
    6) Cavs - 44
    7) Wizards - 43
    8) Pistons - 42

When was the last time 5 eastern conference teams won over 50 games? has that ever happened?

There are some really bad teams at the bottom of the east - Sixers might win 12 games this season, but I cannot remember 5 teams as good as the top 5 are in any given season

Clippers make a mid-season trade and get better. Houston has injury and chemistry problems. Nets don't mesh until it counts. Pacers hit stride too late and get a poor seeding. Bulls click despite occaisional injuries. But in the playoffs it catches up to them.

I guess I'm the only one predicting the Pacers to earn the 1 seed so far. Interesting. I think injuries are going to derail both the Heat and Bulls and keep them from winning enough games to earn the 1 seed in the East.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

One unbeaten preseason and everyone loses their minds...meanwhile Joakim Noah and Kirk Hinrich, 2 of their top 7, already suffered preseason injuries and basically everyone on their team save Jimmy Butler and Boozer has an injury history that is at least slightly concerning.

How many of you would have ranked the Bulls as high as you did if they just looked OK in preseason?

I don't really like predicting this stuff because in truth how could I possibly be sure what's going to happen beyond generalities or playing it safe, but what the hell it's just for fun anyway:

Would some of you like to re-do your picks now that the Bulls have played a game that actually matters?

Re-doing picks after one game? Nah, bushleague.

Bulls will be fine, by the way. Bench could be shaky, and injuries could really hurt them, even if it's just the nagging, "worn down" type of injuries they had at the end of last year (sans Rose, of course). Seeing Mike "Suckleavy" as their first person off the bench was a little comforting for me as a Pacer fan though.

Yeah ok Bulls will be fine still doesn't change the fact that awarding the one seed makes no sense. Just calling it as I see it but that team got **** housed the one time they faced the Big 3 Heat in the playoffs and has a notoriously bad roster for injuries.

Their regular season success is pretty well documented. Won 45 without Rose last year (just 4 less than us, btw). Won 62 and had the 1 seed the year before that. I don't like it, but great coach, MVP level player in Rose (health permitting, of course), tough defense. I can see why some are predicting the one seed for them.

What I know is that the several beers I've had tonight tells me they will be the 5 seed. So shall it be written, so shall it be done.

They play every game like a playoff game, to a fault, at least they have been to this point with Thibs. If Hibbert had an injury like he did tonight and Thibs were coach, he would've came back in the game.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Deng and Heinrich always miss a few games due to injury each season and Noah has perpetual foot injuries. He decided against surgery this summer so I doubt the pain is just going to go away. MDJ and their suspect bench is the second reason I don't think the Bulls will be higher than a 4 seed this season.

People keep mentioning their 61-win season from 2 years ago but that bench was 3 times better than the current one and they couldn't even beat an 8th-seeded offensively challenged Philly in 6 games after Derrick Rose went down.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.
