    Default Danny Granger is done...

...for the preseason. Pacers decided to sit him out for the next couple of games.

Pacers shut down Danny Granger the rest of the preseason

Hed been back for a couple of weeks and looked pretty good as he started to shake the rust off, but now Danny Granger is sidelined again.

The Pacers forward strained his left calf Friday night against the Bulls, leaving the game. Monday the team announced that he sat out practice and would not play in anymore preseason games.

Being cautious here is the right thing to do, but this is a second calf strain this preseason from Granger, and it has to make Pacers fans a little uncomfortable.

Indiana is still trying to see if Granger and Paul George (and Roy Hibbert, for that matter) can mesh and make this a much more dangerous team. If not, hes an expiring contract and a heck of a trade chip but only if he can get on the court and play. Only if he can show he can still be the All-Star level player he was before his rash of injuries.

We were always going to find out the answer to the Granger question during the regular season, were just not going to get any more preseason clues.

Anyway, so long as it's just because of the calf, I'm not terribly worried about it. If they said it was the knee itself, I'd be total darksider.

Considering there's only 2 more games left and both of them are on the road, I'm not going to make a big deal about it. Joakim Noah is sitting the last 3 or 4 games as well. This is standard preseason protocol for a lot of teams.

I predicted Danny would miss at least 14-20 games this year due to nagging injuries and soreness anyway. However, I also predict he will play very well when he's healthy.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

No reason to risk aggravating an injury for a silly pre-season game. When Danny starts missing 2 or 3 regular season games in a row, then I might be a little worried.

Really? Did you have to word the thread title like that? I already said in the game thread the other night that I have had a strained calf and it needs to rest without any running or jumping for probably 10-14 days or the injury will reoccur. Just like what happened. This move doesn't surprise me at all.

I would be moving heaven and earth to get rid of him before the deadline showcase him a little then be done with it.

he is now injury prone and wont be on the team next season anyway.

Talking about overreaction. I wouldn't have made a joke if it had been something serious.

Well...when I read the thread title and think he is done for the season it's not a very good joke.

Just my opinion, but I really dislike these kinds of jokes.

Well I left many options open cause I left it at "done" and used the fullstops then.

Well that's not funny at all and I agree with you. But this couldn't be more far away from what I did

Moving on to the subject, I think he was expected to sit out in some games during the season so it's better to be cautious right now and not put any pressure on it.

I don't get what the problem is. It took about 1 second for me to point the mouse at the link then about another second for my browser to load the page and process the first 3 words that set everything straight.

The ambiguity of the title was a dead giveaway. If you got fooled by this, it's your own fault.

There was no fake link posted. No attempt at dishonesty in the post content. At worst, it was a wink-wink thread title that any level headed individual could have figured out in seconds.

And no, I don't think there have been better joke titles changed. This is about as tame as you could possibly get. Do we need to suck all personality out of everything because god forbid someone misses the obvious and takes it seriously?

If this joke was spoken instead of written on the internet nobody would care.

What are you going to move him for? Contracts at the same dollar amount that don't expire this year?

Frankly, he's worth more as an expiring contract to the Pacers as a solution to the pay issues than his equivalent in players who might be able to contribute off the bench and have 2-3 year contracts. If the Pacers are trying to trade Danny because they think he can't start (or, worse, PLAY) any more, no team out there is going to be stupid enough to trade $14M of starter quality players for him.
