Not sure how there games are nothing alike they both are bad to subpar at everything but scoring.....they both shoot a very high volume per minute played....and so far they both share the trait of bricking almost every shot they take wearing a Pacer uniform.......the current resemblance seems to be there for me.
I just don't agree with that.

Gerald Green is a very athletic wing that can do several things. Offensively, he can run the court, he can drive to the hoop and is a decent 3 point shooter. He is a good rebounder for his position as well and can contest shots with his length and hops (if he is there on time).

Copeland is a very different player. He is an unathletic forward with decent size and length. Offensively, he is a very good 3 point shooter that understands offensive spacing. He is also a decent passer and can score inside as well (he possesses some nice moves in the post). Defensively, he is slow and leaves a lot to be desired on the perimeter but he has decent strength and can push in the post. He isn't a good rebounder for his position, though, due to his lack of athleticism.

They are just nothing alike. Green relies a lot on his athleticism while Copeland relies a lot on his shooting touch. They are just different players.

The only common denominator is that thus far both of them have missed a few 3s.

I could careless about winning in pre-season but we haven't played one good ball-game.

Nice drive by Hill but I wanted Cope to take advantage of the mismatch in the post.

Even the announcers of the Pacers are somewhat worried we haven't played a good ball game in any of the preseason games.

I said that he can do it. I didn't necessarily say that he is good at it. There is a distinction.

Green can do a straight-line drive. A lot of players cannot even do that.

At this point I'd just like to see Frank give all the minutes he can for the rest of this game to evaluate the guys trying to make the team and get that out of his system. Going forward I'd like to see him really focus on figuring out the rotation by playing Copeland, Hill, and OJ heavy minutes until he decides who is 9th and 10th man then try a real rotation for the last 3 games.

I see Lance is still milking injury time like a soccer player.

I get what you are saying if you want to get detailed they obviously are going to have differences.....I am simply referring to the resemblance they share as far as their role to the team goes. Green was brought in to be an instant offense type guy off the bench last year and obviously he failed epicly and turned into a brick master. This year Copeland was brought in to play that role and well so far the exact same production has come all bricks no production. Now I want to clarify that I think Copeland will end up playing his role effectively and that this is just a slump, but right now the resemblances are scary to me because I thought our Chuck Em days were over.

Nice pass by Cope and good hands by Armstrong. That's the second good pass by Cope today.

Wow, Armstrong has dropped a TON of weight since Media Day. Bet he sticks.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Wonder why Orlando has gotten such little burn so far this game and all preseason for that matter.....in the limited minutes hes played this preseason he has been one of the guys I've been most impressed with but still finds it hard to get on the court.

I see where the difference in opinion comes from then.

I compared them as individual players and they are vastly different in that departement.

You compared their role on the team. That's indeed different and I can see a resemblance there. It's true that they are both are seen as an instant offense player. Cope is not performing well so far and thus you have some concerns. That's understandable.

Still, Cope and Green have vastly different games but as far as their role is concerned you do have a point.

I have to remind you though that Green had a good pre-season unlike Cope so far. It's also important to note that Copeland is coming off of injury so I did expect him to be slower than usual.
