Default Roy and PG out today, and tomorrow

Scott Agness has been tweeting that PG is out with bronchitis and Roy is out citing that he just needs rest. Both will not play tomorrow, with PG being replaced by either Lance or Danny depending on how you look at it and Roy being replaced with Ian.

Vogel also made some comments today about how they're still struggling with the time difference, and GHill said he was up til 5 am this morning with him bying a ninja blender off of the TV. I know I'm just a Pacer PR rep (not really) but traveling that far has had to do some real work to their bodies/internal clocks.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right. ― Ricky Gervais.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

It always takes me a week to readjust coming back from Europe. George is going to be happy with that Ninja blender that thing is incredible lol.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I'm officially done watching the Preseason games. I'll just catch the highlights afterward and see how badly they were beaten by.

I'm so ready for the regular season to start.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

    Figures.

As long as Danny is playing, that's really what I want to see. We should be looking at true starter's minutes.

    Sure. "Bronchitis."
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

It means Orlando and Solo will be getting plenty of minutes. That, and Granger being the number one option again makes it interesting for me.

This should give Vogel the time he needs to see if any of the camp invites will make the roster and to decide his 4th wing so he can move on and start working the the actual lineups so we can see Granger with all the starters. There are just too many preseason games anyway.

Even if the cost issues are ignored, the jet lag issue is a substantial reason for the NBA never expanding into Europe and/or Asia.

i agree. readjusting your clock is not easy and it is a big strain on the traveling players putting out so much effort and energy. whoever makes the trip is going to be at a pretty big disadvantage compared to the home team.

    Tank the Season
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I'm not saying that Paul George has a fractured spine, I'm just saying that if he doesn't play tomorrow you'll know he fractured his spine. I've been warning about this for years. Only a Pollyanna could be unaware of Paul George's spinal issues.

First sign of an addiction is gambling on preseason game. on a side note Plumlee looks good in Orange. Ryan Hollins just posterized him too. Now Ralph Lawler called him "Miles Plummer" I dont think this night could get better.

Not so fast... I need to tune up my betting in the preseason so I can really line my bookie's pockets in a couple weeks!

    See, preseason is important!

Never? That's a long time. There could be many more travel options in the future.

But what if they get creative with the scheduling? Play all games in Europe for the first month or so. Then the US teams come home and play each other while the European teams stay in Europe and play each other during the middle months. Then for the last month or so the European teams come to the US to play.

The idea there is to minimize the number of transatlantic trips. I would guess there would be a US champion and a European champion. Just have to figure out a reasonable way to play the finals. Maybe in a neutral city.

I think it is best if the NBA stays as just a North American league. Maybe set up a Euro league and Asian league then have a tourney of the champions, but having an intercontinental league just isn't a good idea.

The first problem as already explained is travel. If you only have one or two teams travel will be a huge issue always. The second issue is alienating fans in NA. If it is one or two teams you can probably wouldn't be a big deal, but as you add more Euro or Asian teams it could become a problem where you start to miss out on huge segments of fans, and it makes more sense to have multiple leagues than just one league.

I say if they want to establish an NBA Europe or NBA Asia more power to them, but to expand the NBA itself is just not a good idea.
