Kstat, do you think Caldwell-Pope and Billups start opening night since Jennings is out for the Pistons?
That's what I would do, but I don't think it's what cheeks will do. I see stuckey and Billups starting, assuming stuckey is healthy. If not, I think Siva and Chauncey, since Mo likes Bynum more off the bench.

Gordon Hayward should be an all star caliber player this year. He just keeps getting better. His handle is so good now. Plus he is stronger that should really help.

Thats exciting to hear, I've not been able to watch him play this year so far. I could not understand why Utah's coach was bringing him off the bench for a large part of last season.

Operation Steve Blake takeover. HE'S ON FIRE!!

And yes Ty Corbin last year was crazy. His rotations never made sense. He played guys like Mo Williams and Randy Foye way to much. The FO solved that problem for Corbin. Alec Burks and Hayward will play (they were both better than Foye last year imo) same with Favors and Kanter. Hayward should be the primary ball handler. it will be interesting to see Trey Burke when he gets healthy. Trey will play off the ball a bit and do things he has never done. in college the lane was always clear. In Utah they ay witb 2 legit bigs so the lane wont be clear. he also will need to learn to screen and play off the ball he never did tbat in college. The Jazz system is the complete opposite of Michigan's

Washington just leap-frogged Detroit by acquiring Gortat.

By the way, Kendall Marshall has either already been waived, or is about to be waived. The feelings are extremely mixed on him, but I'd love to give him a roster spot.

I don't know about Marshall, I guess I wouldn't be mad if we picked him up, but I don't see it happening. Now if we could pickup Okafor as a backup C that'd be nice. What a bench unit that would be...

The old man can still play. Just hope jennings can get back by week 2, because he's going to be on the court a lot early.

Where can I find information about how much time a player plays at a certain position? Like, if a guy spends 75% of his time at the center spot, but is slotted at the PF spot for the other 25% of his minutes.

Yeah, Billlups is the ultimate pro's pro and it's nice for him to finish his career in the place where he had the most success. He's come full circle with two different franchises, Denver and Detroit.

Apparently the Spurs' signing of Josh Howard was just to get his rights for the Austin Toros in the D-League so they can monitor his rehab. I think Josh is about cooked but if there's one team that can find a small, effective role for him it would have to be San Antonio.

If the Pacers hadn't given Donald Sloan two guaranteed years, I'd agree that Kendall Marshall should be at the top of the list of guys they should be calling.

Philly has to be claiming him off of waivers, right? They're below the salary basement and MCW is the only real PG on that roster.

Man i can't believe how stacked the Wiz are getting. Wall, Beal, Nene, Gortat. Then they got a got ton of depth too. If they don't make the playoffs this year, i'm not sure how they can be fixed.

Sloan's contact is non guaranteed he can be cut any time before the deadline. I would be beyond pissed if we cut him for Marshall.

I sure would love to pick him up as a cheap signing end of bench rookie ...

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

    http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/20...tarting-center

Now that Marcin Gortat has been traded, Plumlee will most likely be the team's starting center for the near future. Channing Frye is still getting his wind and legs after not playing basketball for 16 months until three weeks ago (heart condition) and rookie center Alex Len is getting into shape himself while recovering from double ankle surgery that kept him out of action for six months. The acquired Emeka Okafor is out indefinitely with a bulging disc in his neck. Add in Markieff Morris' one-game suspension, and Plumlee is sure to jump center to kick off the 2013-14 season.

"It's going to be kind of trial and error when [Plumlee] goes with another big guy such as Alex [Len] or Gortat," said Hornacek, before the Gortat trade. "But if he's in there with a Channing Frye or even Markieff...teams are going to have to make a decision: Do we leave the shooters? Or Miles is going to get a dunk?' So that will be a weapon."

To help his cause, Plumlee has been proactive about upgrading his offensive repertoire. According to Hornacek, he's been working on his post ups and shot selection with former pros and current Phoenix assistant coaches Mark West and Kenny Gattison.

"Now when he catches the ball and he's within 15 feet, we feel comfortable with him making a move or taking a shot. I'm not sure we could have said that a month ago," said Hornacek.

And as an evolving player on an evolving team, Plumlee is eager to get his first considerable taste of the NBA alongside a collection of unproven commodities.

"I just want to have a great year and grow every day," said Plumlee. "I feel we're going to improve each day and that's a great feeling."
I'm so excited about Miles. I will definitely watch several Phoenix games.
