I see that we are back to the good ole days where we have a love/hate relationship with KStat when it comes to any discussion regarding the Pistons.
Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

He has a lot more talent and size on this team than he had in Atlanta. He had to protect Horford and Korver/Williams on defense constantly. On this team drummond and Monroe protect him from quality bigs. He doesn't have to guard the Garnetts or David Wests anymore.
    More size? Yes.

    More talent? Not sure.

Joe Johnson is a pretty darn good talent. Overpaid but he is a talented player. Horford is a high quality big as well. Teague is good (I'd rather have him than Jennings, to be honest). Pachulia was good as a back-up or when they wanted to go big. Lou Williams has talent as a 6th man.

If Drummond develops into a bonafide All-Star then I could see what you're saying. But for the moment the Hawks get a slight nod. They were a pretty good team for several years.

I'm happy with Smith. He had a really bad night against the NBA's best defensive team in their house. It happens. He still put us in position to win the game, and Memphis had to have 3 or 4 things go their way in the last minute to come back.
He'll be fine. Just ****ing with you, chap.

One of the best. Not the best. They weren't the best defensive team last year and we still don't know which team is the best defensively this year since we're still in November.

The Nets bench is looking really solid. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.

Problem is they could never defend the paint. No low post presence.

Smith is a good defender. But to say he guarded PG easily or beat up on him, well thats just not true. Not sure how you can say that when PG averaged 18.7/9.5/5 for the series. And while Korver was on him a lot in game 1 and 2, he only played half the minutes PG did in game 1. Smith played him a lot that game as well.

And no, the Pistons won't win 50 games with Smith going 7-23 with half his attempts being 3s. I don't care how good his defense is. Shooting like that is not going to win games.

Had no problem with the attempts. going 3-11 from the arc didn't hurt us, going 4-10 in the paint did. He's better than that.

He took three shots (two corner threes and a mid range shot) that I don't ever want him to take, but the rest are shots he can make with his feet set.

I doubt he has too many games shooting that poorly.

Gerald is playing well for Phoenix as well. He fits much better in a high-tempo offense.

Horford is absolutely a defensive sieve playing center, and Pachulia is a tough hustle guy but not exactly a defensive plus. His biggest defensive plays are mainly hard fouls.

Isaiah Thomas has 20 points on 6 shots. Kings're gonna have to give that kid a BIG raise to keep him, he'll be restricted this summer.

Horford is similar to Monroe. I wouldn't want them guarding Centers but they are pretty good defenders.

I agree with that, except Horford DOES have to play center in Atlanta.

Smith shouldn't be defending bigger fours for long stretches either. It was a terrible defensive combo.

Phoenix going with a legit 12 man rotation tonight. 12 guys with 9+ minutes.

So if Plumlee keeps kicking a$$ does that mean that we traded the wrong center?

Note that I didn't like the Plumlee draft.

Agree again, which is why I like this roster a hell of a lot more than what he had in Atlanta.

KCP and Jennings need to be in there for this team to play at full strength, though.

You shouldn't be happy with a career 28% 3 point shooter taking 11 shots from beyond the arc. I'm sorry, but the Pistons just wont win games like that.

who cares? they can't all be Steve Nash. an efficient 14-16 bench points has a ton of value, no matter where it comes from.
