    Good for him.

It is worth 6 M to him to not help the Heat
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

It's good for the Pacers. It makes Dan Gilbert look like a child. You don't eat $6 million dollars because you want to spite your ex-employee that took a better job offer 3 years ago.

From a leadership standpoint, it does not inspire confidence in a franchise for the guy writing the paychecks to show no more maturity than the common fan. I'm sure the fanbase loves that, but you're never going to win anything that way.

From a leadership standpoint, it tells players that you cannot get suspended for conduct detrimental to the team and then get rewarded by being allowed to play in Miami or wherever you want. What sort of message would that send? If you act like a big enough douche, then we'll release you and allow you to play wherever you want. Yeah, that will really cause players to respect you......

Gilbert is showing a spine by not allowing a clown like Bynum to run him over.

....no, instead Gilbert is going to give him a $6 million bonus check instead of cutting him and forcing another NBA team to pay him

Somehow, I don't think that sends any kind of a message other than "I'm still not over LeBron after three years so I'll pay you not to play on his team!"

Really, if Bynum was obsessed with playing for a championship team, he wouldn't have signed with the Cavs. Money is what he wants, and Gilbert is going to pay him twice as much as any other team because he floated the word "Miami" out there.

Either way, Gilbert is being played.

I forgot to mention this but Trey Burke showed last night why I wasn't high on him as a pg for my team. He has to be one of the wordt pg defender s in the nba he is just bad on that end.

I bet his self-made $3.6B net worth is all the confidence they really need.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

Sounds like he's (Bynum) the kid who knows he can throw a tantrum in the grocery line and get the candy bar.

I don't know or care about the affair rumor, but I put stock in him being unhappy with their style of play. He knew Kyrie was Cleveland's star, he took the contract, and now he wants to dictate the style of play, and if he can't he knows he can go to a contender. Weird how it's picking between one child or the other, and only one is openly being called a child.

It's confidence that they can bleed him for money by tapping into his Lebron fetish. As an nba owner, he's sorely lacking.

$6 million to him is akin to me dropping a dime on the ground and not picking it up.

I find Bynum's actions far more harmful to the NBA than an owner who doesn't care about spending his own money to prove a point.

Bynum's actions may have earned himself an extra $6 million to put his feet up and take a paid vacation. I'm sure he's very distraught over it...

Gilbert may not care about $6 million, but I'm sure Bynum does...

So what's the problem then? If Bynum is happy, and Gilbert is happy, sounds like everyone is happy, but Kstat and Miami.

I don't think Miami is distraught about this either...Bynum's got no knees anymore.

As an impartial observer, I was making an observation that Gilbert is very easily manipulated.

Wow. I had heard about the "incident" on the Starters but didn't realize that 1. he threw the shoes separately, 2. Lowry really could have just handed them (though maybe he didn't recognize the Bulls fan), 3. just how sad the sad Raptors fan is and comedic the Bulls fan looks. A dick move but tough not to giggle at.

I was nearly shoved off the balcony for one of Charles Barkley's shoes when I was 14. I wish the nba would crack down on that. People become instant ******** when there's free memorabilia involved.

Left shoulder hit the screen and while flopping right shoulder hits the court, his injury is to the right shoulder, flop related injury.

Durant started the game 3-11 but has gone 10-14 since. Having a strong 4th qtr so far, something that was an issue the prior two games
