Nash looked decent last night. I wonder if the Lakers will try to trade him to a contender?
And it was his 40th birthday too

Could Dumars be next Cavs GM?

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the market for a general manager after Chris Grant was fired this week. Assistant GM Dave Griffin will lead basketball operations until a replacement is hired and most likely the position won't be filled until after the season. A few names have already been mentioned and a current front office executive might be a candidate. Who might that be? Joe Dumars.

Dumars could be in trouble with owner Tom Gores if the team does not make the playoffs. Should Dumars and the Pistons part ways, there should be a few teams in line to speak with him and the leader will likely be the Cavaliers.

ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst was a guest on Detroit Sports 105.1 and he mentioned to Matt Dery that Dumars and Cavs owner Dan Gilbert are neighbors. Dumars to the Cavs would be interesting as Gilbert fired Grant for a bunch of bad moves over the last few years and Dumars has equally been bad putting together the Pistons roster.
    That would be fantastic.

Yes, it would. And he can take Josh Smith with him.

Utah beating the Heat is very nice. As was Orlando beating OKC last night.

Good stuff Jazz. That is a horrible loss Heat, just awful. You let Marvin Williams and Richard Jefferson beat you.

14 losses for Miami. My man Gordon Hayward locked it up at the end.

If the Pacers keep winning at this rate, Miami will need to win 31 of the last 33 to clinch the first seed.

That's too bad. He's a great talent, but his inability to handle stress will kill him. Reminds me of Artest.

That's hard to believe, Smart was calmly getting up, he obviously said something insensitive.

I'm sort of curious how this is treated in a number of ways. First of all, since I am a Pacers fan, my view was a bit biased on what happened in Detroit. This isn't nearly at that level by either fan nor player, nothing was thrown at Smart nor did Smart go completely in the stands and throw punches. Also this is college, not the NBA, and Lord Stern doesn't reside over the decision making, so I'm really interested to see what happens. Part of me could see it being like a 5 game suspension or even lower, and there's a part of me seeing them throw the hammer and throw him out for the season. ESPN is blowing this story up much atm like the Detroit incident was, so I could see pressure from the NCAA to not see this happen again.

Either way, I'm sure this will bring bad memories, and Malice at the Palace mentions from media everywhere for a while now.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."
