I dunno, I'd be hoping they make the playoffs. This might be their best chance ever to actually beat the pistons in a playoff series...

Keep grasping for those straws, my friend.

Edit: If it counts for anything, my beef is more with the city of Detroit and the surrounding area in general. I work up there and live relatively close and I hate it more than I can convey in words.

    I try. But it's hard to write "1989," "1990" and "2004" on a straw..

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

    Division Champions 1955, 1956, 1988, 1989, 1990, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
    Conference Champions 1955, 1956, 1988, 2005
    NBA Champions 1989, 1990, 2004

Grasp what you can, Kstat. Your ill fitting roster, horrible management, and awful coach have pretty much guaranteed you aren't going to be winning any playoff series any time soon.

Not any harder than writing "1970", "1972", and "1973"...thing is, all these straws are too old to drink out of...

Which reminds me....have we clinched the division yet? We gotta be close...

Just wanted to clarify for you there.

Honestly, I think it would be smart to deal Monroe. Ideally, they would rid themselves of Josh Smith, but with his contract and the way he has played this season, I'm not sure he has much value. Obviously Drummond is untouchable. They need some shooting or a wing that is actually a wing. If I were the Pistons I would tell the Wizards it is going to take Bradley Beal or this conversation is over.

Okay. I'm pretty happy with 3 championships for the time being. I suspect I will be for a long time. Not many fans are so lucky, so I'm thankful for what I have.

If dumars doesn't get it turned around this season, he's gone, and we can start over. No biggie.

Beal and Monroe are very similar right now. Both guys are performing well below espectations this season. Beal isn't playing off of wall as well as they hoped, and Monroe certainly isn't playing as well off of drummond. A swap makes sense for both sides, especially given that wizards fans are in love with Monroe and have been for years.

I still like josh smith. He's not the problem here, though he badly needs to switch to the PF position. At least he plays defense.

Portland's defense is BAD. They will need to rely on their offense in the playoffs. Not sure how well that will work out.

Difference is IU has advantages. In the NBA you can't just go out and recruit a new team every 4 years. The coach is the most important thing, as Michigan fans have learned the hard way. You can lose a Tim Hardaway jr and just go out and get Zac Irvin and you'll be fine, but only if you have a coach that knows how to run a program. In the NBA, you can have a great GM and still be hamstrung by FA and the draft.

But thats pretty much the problem...Joe got tired of his good team after 4 years and went out and recruited Charlie V and Ben Gordon...and then 4 years later went out and recruited Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings....

Problem is Joe D has no ****ing clue what hes doing....and I love every minute of it....

Eh it's okay Indiana has learned it the hard way since Knight left. Learning it now.

Still, as much talent as your roster has...it's a mess and the pieces fit together poorly. Dumars needs to go and get somebody in there to fix that mess.

Let's hope they don't score 19 in the second half like last week.

yea Houston cooled way off....down to 59% from the field including 64% from 3....crazy...Portland picked it up enough to match Houstons 35 points in the third....still down by 15....

Whats the most points scored this season?

This could be a fun playoff series....

Fun fact: The Portland Trail Blazers have the longest playoff series win drought in the entire NBA. They have not won a playoff series since the 2000 semis. They then went on to lose to the Lakers in that epic 7 game WCF's. Aside from the Bobcats (who weren't created until 04), every other franchise has won a playoff series since then.

I'm sure that Portland fan base is itching for some postseason success this year.

The hapless Bobcats haven't even won a playoff game in their short history
