Rose injured again as the Bulls have blown a 21 point lead.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Gasol's knee injury didn't look good. Non contact was trying to gain position in the post and just immediately grabbed for the knee typically a bad sign

I think that Danny Green hit his knee with his butt. Not sure that this could cause the knee to buckle, though.

As much as I dislike the Bulls I really hope DRose's knee is ok.

Also hoping Gasol's knee is ok as well.

For sure, screw the Bulls and everything, but man, if he tore it again he's probably going to be terrified to play and that sucks.

Not necessarily. I've seen people partially tear something, play on it for a little bit more, and then completely tear it.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

It's a good sign but it doesn't indicate if there is a tear or not. Rondo played with a tear, for example. To not be able to plant your foot you have to tear more than one ligaments. Of course, it doesn't have to be a tear at all.

There is another angle from the baseline where you see the leg drag behind him and then it buckles...it doesn't look great that's for sure. Man..

I'll give an example. When I tore my ACL I couldn't plant my foot. Actually, I could technically plant it but I couldn't put any amount of strength at it or attempt to walk. That happened because it wasn't simply an ACL tear. It was a complete ACL tear along with a complete LCL (laterall collateral) tear and a meniscus tear. I think that my MCL (Medial) was injured as well and only my PCL was intact. That's when you cannot plant your foot at all.

Lots of people can do stuff in a straight line off ACL tears, it's the cutting and such that becomes nearly impossible

Yeah some linemen (Logan Mankins and Josh Chapman come to mind) have played full seasons on torn ACLs, and we all saw Reggie Wayne walk off the field with a torn ACL. And now I'm really sad

Obviously. This is what an ACL tear limits.

Get off my motor home lawn!

Anyways, you gotta admit at some point where there is smoke there is fire, what's the next plan to try and get Smith's butt in gear? I'm genuinely curious on a Piston perspective on this. Don't you find it odd that the reaction is to bench Smith instead of Monroe or Drummond? Why not try a small lineup?
    (to your first comment)

Smith missed a practice which is why he was benched. He then proceeded to basically go through the motions in 20 minutes, especially offensively. The Smith/Monroe/Drummond lineup didn't play a second together. And Jennings played real well the first 3 quarters, and proceeded to become the MVP of the Hawks in the 4th quarter. Just awful decisions.

As for my view of the Pistons, it seems to me that their talent level is able to keep them in games even when they don't play well. That's in part due to adding Smith and Jennings. But the fit and chemistry is not very good right now. And that is also due to adding Smith and Jennings (and Mo Cheeks hasn't impressed as a coach thus far).

So I don't know if that answers anything for you. My hope is that they're able to figure it out, because there's a lot of wins to be had playing in the East. And if they're going to stink, then be bad enough to keep the pick you owe Charlotte this season (top 8 protected).

That's part of the reason I like Bird. He's always coveted our draft picks, and when he has traded them, it's been for safe, low-risk investments.

Agreed. Bird built the team through the draft and then used free agency/trades for icing on the cake additions in West and Hill. That's the way to do it.

The Knicks organization simply has no regard for draft picks. I understand trading picks for Melo three years ago, but they traded a 2016 first rounder for freaking Bargnani. That is going to look absolutely hideous in two years.

Man, Rose, Iggy, and Gasol all in one night. These last couple of NBA years have been so injury plagued, really sad as a fan of the game to see the Miami cHeat win simply because the rest of the league is injured while they collude to form a superteam.
